28 Nov 2024 16:29Maybe last night had something to do with playing against the current best team in Europe. From Despair To Where? wrote:Mbappe lol.
Not the penalty miss so much as the fact he openly flirted with Real for 3 years, they pay him £300k a week after tax, shift other players about to accommodate him, thereby disrupting their balance and he's an absolute bag of shite.

28 Nov 2024 16:31He has of course been a midfield player so it is no great surprise that he can do things in and around the box.Winston Biscuit wrote:Connor Bradley MOTM for me here (still 10 mins to go). He is some player.

28 Nov 2024 19:07Very little to do with last night, it's what's been said by sports journalists in Spain for the last 3 months. Last night was just confirmation.South Coast Royal wrote:Maybe last night had something to do with playing against the current best team in Europe. From Despair To Where? wrote:Mbappe lol.

Real Madrid have always gone for star names (apart from Beckham who didn't start that many games) and generally find a way to fit them all in .
I expect them and Mbappe to improve as the season progresses.

28 Nov 2024 20:37I've watched them a few times this season, and they're actually pretty decent, so not surprised they're in front. They pissed all over Porto, even after going a man down.Winston Biscuit wrote:Come on you Glimters!

29 Nov 2024 15:58Yes, we know all that but last night Liverpool took full advantage (even without Alisson, Jota and Trent) of big spending Real Madrid being short of just a few players but still able to include top international players as back-up.From Despair To Where? wrote:Very little to do with last night, it's what's been said by sports journalists in Spain for the last 3 months. David Beckham was at Real Madrid for 4 seasons, played 159 games and started 144 of those, for an average of 36 starts a season and only failed to get on the pitch 4 times.

29 Nov 2024 16:24That'll be his La Liga stats only. The so-called "stellar" career of playing at big clubs led to 29 games only for AC Milan , scoring 2 goals and 10 games for PSG scoring 0 goals.
So , the idea that he went on from a very good career at Man Utd to then star at those 3 top European clubs is somewhat of an exaggeration IMHO put forward with the usual hype that went with him being a very good player but a long way from being one of the greats.

His AC Milan career was 2, half year, loan spells over 2 seasons, so the 33 games he played for AC Milan he was only available for 44.
His PSG career was 1 loan spell for half a year, he played in 14 games of the 21 he was available for.
You may not like him Vic, but wherever he has played, he has been a very important and key member of the first XI at some of Europe's biggest clubs.
I will not stand for David Beckham slander.

He wasn't even the best player in Man Utd's midfield.
A very hard working player who made the very best of his ability but wouldn't make my top 50 of all time and probably not the top 100.
Presumably his was the poster on your bedroom wall as a child but football started a long time before the arrival of the Premier League.
