There's only really PL "security" for about a third of the teams there, and for all the others I'd argue that there's a perennial fear of relegation.

I'd argue not for two thirds of the division, but you've successfully made your own argument circular. If 14 teams can be relegated at the start of the season, and the Championship, and League One, is full of teams who have been in the PL in the recent past, then by definition the PL, and staying in it, is no closed shop at all.

Your argument seems to be - 'okay well, except Forest, Bournemouth, Brentford, Fulham, Villa, Bolton, Wolves and Wigan.....'

Related to Arsenal comments on the other thread - but in general, big clubs complaining about injuries. Moreso than ever the top 6/8 have an indescribable financial advantage. 'But...injuries' normally just means having to play a £50m reserve instead of a £80m first-choice player, like poor old Pep having to select Matheus Nunes.

Obviously this only goes so far - Liverpool losing every single senior centre-back in their squad aside from Nat Philips was ridiculous, and led to them pairing Fabinho and Henderson at the back. But even that was only for a couple of games.

You've got a big squad. Injuries are a thing.

Dalot has been oxf*rd awful this season. TBF he's a right back who has to play on the left. He would get in the team as a utility player (your Phil Neville, your John O'Shea) but that's it. If Amad/Shaw*/Dorgu are fit he starts on the bench

Amad is getting in ahead of one of Zirkzee/Garnacho if played in the 10 and ahead of Mazraouri if played at WB

Amorin rotates (and subs) the CBs a lot so Mazraoui/Yoro would get time.

The Glazers bought the club on debt, i.e. zero of their OWN money put in. This has cost UNITED over £1 BILLION in interest payments and barely touched the principle. The Glazers used to take £10 million a year in dividend payments as well. So you have wealthy owners exploiting fans to make more money whilst running the club into the ground, e.g OT leaking stadium, no resources for a women's team etc etc. Hundreds have lost their jobs due to the current cost-cutting. You are not allowed to purchase a club like this anymore (afaik)

Alex Ferguson operated a net gain in player sales/purchases for the period when the Glazers took over in 2005 to when he retired in 2013

They appointed the people to run the club, Woodward, etc, who have torched money with some terrible player purchases. I'm not sure I buy the idea that they alone were responsible for increasing revenue. Other clubs have also made increased revenue, a rising tide, etc

Would just like to see a sale and the debt cleared. Any revenue Utd makes going back into the club rather than interest and the Glazers' back pocket.

Sorry I thought you loved US Capitalism? Leveraged buy outs were all the rage! As is cost cutting, lack of infrastructure investment and getting rid of the little guys whilst over paying for "talent" !!
