Makes sense, plus Brentford play Chelsea on Friday night 18th.
I was dreading a draw against one of the Premier 3 Bs. They will really rub our noses in it. Just because there owners are brilliant and ours have been crap. Will be a painful watch against a side we used to call rivals. The Cap wrote: ↑27 Aug 2026 11:39 In theory, we should get absolutely battered by Brentford. However, as the great man himself once said, "It's a funny ol' game". And whilst their fans are giving it the big 'un, this could well be one of those games that has a twist to it. Also, even though we're a league below Brum, I reckon Andrews will definitely have more concerns about this tie. After all, if the mentality on show is that we're only 'Here for the Brentford', what's the point in even turning up?
Listen Jack, whatever top flight we drew it would always be the same story, we got Stevenage fans were moaning because it was a nothing game, now we get a PL team we`re all crying out because we`re going to get hammered.Jackson Corner wrote: ↑27 Aug 2026 15:36I was dreading a draw against one of the Premier 3 Bs. Plenty of Never play you again, Your only here for the Brentford, Premier league your having a laugh! Grounds to big ect"…..
Not fussed about that, rather see Liverpool, United, Arsenal players than the also rans of other premier league sides. More hacked off with fact that when Brentford have won Reading won’t have had much of a payday out of it. Brentford will probably sell out given the local nature and expectation of a comfortable win but I can’t see Reading fans being particularly excited, so any cash windfall for the club will sadly be minimal.windermereROYAL wrote: ↑27 Aug 2026 16:38Listen Jack, whatever top flight we drew it would always be the same story, we got Stevenage fans were moaning because it was a nothing game, now we get a PL team we`re all crying out because we`re going to get hammered.Jackson Corner wrote: ↑27 Aug 2026 15:36I was dreading a draw against one of the Premier 3 Bs. Of course it`s likely to be true, just like it would be against all the top half PL sides, you can`t have it both ways.
I`m just happy we`re sharing the same pitch with players we see on MOTD every Saturday night.
0-6 0-7 or 1-0 2-1, that`s the way football works, bring it on.
