Vuvuzela is of course in no way a long-standing tradition of SA but it's the current fashion, just as those terrifying bendy kite men things were in Japan. Don't award a nation hosting rights on the back of boosting national pride, only to insist they work to strict, European guidelines. For the most part this whining's not borne of a colonial attitude, but it certainly has much in common with one.

And may we never voice an opinion again in case we upset some sensitive souls. CHRIST.

The ball seems to have caused players problems, although personally I think it's just a bit of an excuse BUT they do it at every tournament as Adidas try to tinker with a perfectly acceptable ball.

Plenty of fans seem to have struggled to get around the place from the reports I've seen and heard. They might not be very common problems but it seems apparent that the SA authorities leave a lot to be desired in organising certain elements....certainly if you take into account the 'riots' by the stewards yesterday.

Germany seemed to get the hand of the ball OK last night. Maybe the teams just haven't been playing that well yet.

I've played with it a couple of times and really have to say it's not that different to any other £50+ football. Same news story every world cup. YAWN.

As for the Vuvuzelas / transport issues. This the World Cup, the celebration of the global game. FIFA should be congratulated for their determination to take football to the world - far more inclusive than the Olympic movement ironically enough.

As a result of this, yes there are some issues, but this is Africa, what did fans expect? Japanese Bullet trains to the ground? It's like going to Delhi and moaning that it's a bit hot and busy.

I'm not a fan of the Vuvuzela's but at least they mean that the tournament has it's own identity and a bit of personality. In an age of soulless, identikit modern stadia (and fans), that is to be applauded. And seriously, are they really that annoying, or do you just like to moan about sh1t?

Haven't they been using it in the Bundesleague this season? Or was that made up by the Sun complaining about ze Germans?

They have been as the Bundesliga have their balls supplied by adidas - fair play to them.

In fact, I think most leagues who use adidas balls have been using it.
