I don't understand why the Glazers/Ineos insisted he came when he did and then not back him in January!?!

Amorim's preference was to come in the summer so he could have a pre-season with his own players who suited the system. Instead they've parachuted him into the busy winter schedule with no time to implement a different formation and tactics.

I remain unconvinced by Ineos/Brailsford etc

Not really read anything particularly, but much like with United, he was heralded as the perfect replacement for Sky with the deep pockets to fund continued success.

It's more an observation that in the 5 years as Ineos, despite the budget being there, they've gone backwards and more or less abandoned the ethos that made them a great team in the first place. They've completely lost their identity. Maybe the riders aren't there but the whole mentality was to build a team capable of propelling the team leader to titles.

Guardian have an article on this. While I think the whole 'place is a mess, have some pride' thing he got slated for right at the start was mental - he was spot on there. Some of the anecdotes are pretty damning.
