Due to a shortfall in their budget for 2026/27 of €2.7m, they have been relegated from the 3rd Divsion into the Bavarian Regional League (4th tier). However, they have to find €1m to gain their license for that division, else they may be relegated again or even enter insolvency.

1860 finished 8th in the 3rd Division this last season. TV Havelse will be reprieved from relegation as a result of 1860's forced relegation.
Former German champions and Cup Winners Cup winner too. what a mess.
Second time it's happened too. When they were relegated from the 2. Bundesliga in 2016/17, they were denied a license from the DFB for the 3. Division and were relegated directly to the Regional Leagues. They were promoted the following season and met license requirements but are now in breach again - feels even more serious this time.

Segunda play off final coming up a week on saturday. Almeria Vs Malaga

quite interesting seeing both Deportivo & Malaga come back up from the 3rd tier to the 2nd tier 2 season ago, and now Deportivo have been promoted back to La Liga and Malaga are one game away from joining them

I notice Malaga have a 19 year old half-Irishman playing in midfield for them

Boavista fans have managed to halt an asset liquidation which would have seen their stadium demolished, and a court has set out a 'recovery framework protection' which is basically laying out an agreed pathway for the club to get back to starting up again, which then includes all the hurdles that must be cleared along the way for that to happen, and there are apparently many of them, and clearing their debts is included in that, which will be a huge challenge

Didn't win the Cup Winners Cup but were beaten by West Ham in the 1965 final at Wembley.

They were the first team from Munich to win the Bundesliga though.

I thought my memory wasn't so bad that I didn't realise 1860 had beaten West Ham-thanks for pointing it out.
I was there for the game at Wembley and have never since been in such a noisy crowd anywhere , caused by the horns that were allowed into the stadium.

Brest manager Eric Roy died today. During his playing career he spent a season at Sunderland playing in the PL (the season they had just got promoted and Kevin Philips scored bucketfulls)

Malaga win the play offs and are promoted to La Liga!

Game kicked off late as Almeria fans attacked the Malaga team bus on arrival and smashed the windows

Noticed an interesting format to the Serie B play-off final. Teams 3rd to 8th in the play-offs and 3rd-placed Monza faced 5th-placed Catanzaro in a two-legged final, which finished 2-2 on aggregate. And that's it. Because Monza finished higher in the league table, they are promoted to Serie A - they only needed an aggregate draw to secure promotion. Catanzaro led the second leg 2-0 with 15 minutes to go, but couldn't find a promotion-winning goal.

leaked messages show that former head of Serbian FA, Slaviša Kokeza, was so unhappy with the critical comments Nemanja Vidic made about the nation not qualifying for Euro 2020, that he was talking to Serbian criminals about having Vidic 'silenced'

Sweden's top tier, the Allsvenskan, plays through our summer - about a third of the way through their season, and the league is being led by totally unfancied IK Sirius, a club that has spent most of its history in the lower leagues, and can boast a best finish of 7th in the top division.

Their top scorer, with 11 goals in 11 games, is young Scottish forward Robbie Ure. Squad also includes fellow Scot Finlay Neat, who left Aberdeen's academy for Sweden in 2019 when his Dad got a marine biology professorship at the World Maritime University in Malmo.

Basar Onal moves from NEC in the Eredivisie to Lille for €12M. NEC came 3rd in the Eredivisie last season, their highest league finish in their history, and the team is now being picked apart. This young Turkish lad was apparently one of the big reasons they did well last season and its a surprise that Lille are the team he is moving to as other bigger clubs have been rumoured

Çorum F.K appear to be this seasons new Turkish club with money (seems to be a new one each season) and having been promoted to the Superlig via the play offs, they are now in discussions with Aubameyang

They are now 9 points clear at the top with a game in hand over 2nd place Hammarby - they have won 11 and drawn 2 of their opening 13 games.

Bordeaux, who were relegated to the 4th tier 2 years ago, have now been kicked down to the 6th tier due to still not being able to pay their debts

The fans already started up Union Brescia last summer as an alternative (renaming an existing club that relocated to Brescia) and they were allowed into the 3rd division, where they were runners up last season
