Buckingham Group, who built the Bearwood training ground, and currently working on the Liverpool's Anfield Road stand and Northampton's East Stand, have gone into administration. They were already a couple of months behind on the Anfield schedule.

They're also responsible for Fulham's new main stand being very very very late.

Work started in 2019 and now isn't expected to be completed until the start of the 2024/25 season!

Is that still not finished!? I understood Covid would've slowed things down and it's not the easiest build logistically, but for a single stand five years is laughably bad.

It looked done externally when I was last in the area (four/five months ago maybe), but there was clearly work still going on (which must be internal). If the firm responsible have had financial issues, that would help explain why it's taken so long.

The owner must have put his dipshit son in charge of the project.

Retractable roofs makes it easier to host big concerts etc, good for additional revenue.

Aberdeen want to give up that lovely traditional 20,866 capacity stadium, for a 20,000 capacity uninspiring bowl, and almost be in the sea.

I believe the general consensus is that Pitodrie is a bit of a shitshole that needs a lot of work doing to it.

Looking at the current location of Pitodrie it would seem they'd be scope to redevelop the existing stadium rather than move completely. Would surely be cheaper too.

It's all part of plans by the council to completely redevelop the seafront. Not necessarily driven by the club but if someone offers you incentives to move to a new stadium with better facilities, you'd consider it, especially considering there's fcuk all money in the SPL outside the Old Firm.

Pitodrie has 1 nice stand. Half the ground is bucket seats bolted onto terracing and big sections of the ground are not under cover
