If we were, we would already be bottom.

You don't have to be good to do well in the Championship. You just have to be commited, organised and have a plan. We may qualify on one of those grounds, although I'm not convinced.
As a distinctly average Millwall showed today.
I actually though Millwall didn't get out of first gear. They looked organised and we just seemed happy to lump balls in the box to nobody. They didn't have to play.
It was almost comical that for 20 minutes Moore just lumped the ball to Carroll....and that was our only plan......and the fact João was nowhere near Carroll at any stage to pick up the flick on or second ball meant their defence had an easy afternoon.
Quick word about Jake Cooper. I find it incredible we let that guy go, yeah he made the odd mistake, but he was young and is now the backbone of that team.
agree about Cooper, different manager, different times, different expectations tho’

He (Cooper) has been immense for Millwall for many seasons now….yet another Antonio Reading fukk-up

Just shows what happens if you trust young players rather than sidelining them so they stagnate and leave

Works both ways

Tshibola, Kelly and Kuhl are three that spring to mind

Have more respect for Stam by identifying that Cooper didn’t align with his managerial ethos, as opposed to the rest of our recent managers who just throw players into a system, independent of how well they fit it

Tbf, Tish and Kelly did well for us for a while and got given the chance. Tish got crippled with injuries and went downhill after he left.

Kuhl's an odd one, started well, got dropped and then his game fell apart and he went nowhere.

If you don’t go through the iffy phase you never see who'll make it and who won't, and you miss out on lots of talent.

The last 25 league games have only got us 6 wins with just 1 away win in 12 games. That win came from a lucky own goal in the last minute at Hull. If it wasn't for the current circumstances on restrictions then I'd expect the club would have sacked Ince as that's relegation form.

Understand that higher-ups at #ReadingFC have growing doubts as to whether Paul Ince is the man to lead us into next season

For the record, Ince’s goal for the season has been to stay up and I am sure he will deliver on that goal, so on his part he has delivered.

The question around him is whether he is the best option to build and manage a team aiming for promotion.
Good! Let's hope it's true. Get to the end of the season, give the guy and Rae a nice bonus and move on. Get someone like Nathan Jones or Dean Smith in (assuming we stay up)

Why should they get a bonus?

RFC Latest on twitter are reporting a rumour that we are keeping tabs on Murty who is in charge of Sunderland U21s.

For doing what they were asked to do

Would be nice to see a Reading favourite manage us but again does he have enough experience?

Not really, and these days any favourite is only likely to tarnish their memory coming here.

But at least he'd know what success looks like here and in the division.
