I think that after the tedious 15 wins from 17 last season we all needed a season of bitter recrimination to redress the balance and it is unfolding beautifully. Poor new signings, a series of leads spunked away and the manager falling out with his players left, right and centre. Next week: who shot Nick(y) Hammond?

Aint gonna happen.

Cisse and Hoilett will have a field day running at that defence.

PieEater I fully expected to lose, but to play so badly and throw away a 4 goal lead is just a disaster for the players confidence. We are going to get absolutely stuffed at QPR on Sunday.

^^This

Anyone who says "It's just the Capital One Cup" is living in dreamland if they don't think that sort of capitulation won't have a devastating effect going forwards. If we don't bounce back at QPR, that may well be that as our confidence will be totally shot. I fully expect to concede at least 3.

SHORT AND CURLY Rodgers lost the fans after that away game at QPR. That was the first and last time I really vented my frustration at any Reading manager.

Ironically QPR comes round again.
Brian is under pressure on Sunday and I think anything but a decent performance/win and the 'proverbial' writing will be on the wall. I would love him to turn it around as one of his most ardent supporters, however I fear the worst

To be honest i dont care about the performance on sunday, 3 points is a MUST in my eyes, not a draw and a good performance!

SPARTA Same old story. Play well in the first half, Brian gives team talk, we come out a completely different side and throw it away. 5 times now? Nothing learnt. McDermott is well out of his depth and we are phucked unless, sadly, and I really do mean that, we change the manager and hope to God we get someone decent in who can work a near miracle.

I was at the bottom of the steps at 4-3 and then they scored a 4th. I said then, just as I did at 4-2, we will lose this and thank God I carried on home. At least we beat the traffic!

**** off you negative ****. Talk about get behind your team....not. Everyone is fcuked off but get behind them don't go home.

Is this the night that the fanbase turns its back on Brian McDermott?

Feels like it.

It's not just about our team either. Any team playing us is going to think that it doesn't matter how many goals we get ahead, if they keep plugging away we'll fold like a concertina, just exactly as our team is going to be worried about doing it.

The psychological damage of our start to the season, throwing away 9 points in 8 games and pissing a 4-0 lead away in the cup is phenominally huge.

People are realising that it ain't going to get any better.

A man is out of work who could make a difference.

Simon's Church We've got 8 defenders in the squad and only Shorey is up to standard, we're totally fukked.

This is probably the scariest part for me. There's been flashes of promising combinations between certain wings and strikers, but at the back... it's been dreadful from the Spurs game on. Painful.

Similar to the question "who would sign for us in January?" is "who would want to manage Reading FC right now?"

paultheroyal That just stank of FA CUP Q/F against Villa all over again but far worse!

This, how many times do we have to see Reading oxf*rd it up in a big time situation before they finally come good?

The last person we want walking through the door as an employee is Harry Effing Redknapp. Just, no.

This is the crux of the problem for me. Genuinely believe Brian is the best man for the squad as it is.

If however Anton wants to invest significantly in January then I think he'd be best off doing it with a new manager with fresh ideas.

Whenever it happens though it will be a sad day when Brian McDermott is no longer a part of Reading Football Club...

I don't want Harry Redknapp anywhere near our football club.

This. I'd rather have Louise Redknapp as manager.
