Big Ern Watched the whole game on the telly. Thanks to the Mexican love of English football, normally 4 or 5 games shown simultaneously.

Every player was solid and did there job. Feds put in one of his best performances ever, and his save in the first half was world class.

Legs did superbly well and broke up everything and laid it off simple.

Feds, if only he could play like that for 90minutes.

Kebe looked as if he could hurt newcastle evrytime he got the ball.

Apart from that everyone very very solid without being spectacular. Thats probnably what we need going forward to secure more away points

I was perplexed when Karcan didn't start and was screaming at the TV when Brian took off Guthrie, but fair play to him, he got the tactics 100% spot on for once. We haven't been able to say that much this season.

The Spanish speaking commentors, which included Histro Stoichkov, commented thay were surprised with our current leage position and thought we would pull away to safety if we continue playing like we did in the second half. Stoichkov was also glowing about the impact ALF made. High praise indeed for ALF from one of the best Strikers the world has ever seen.

Above all, this result gives us hope and beleif which we must carry forward. Along way to go and the odds are still against us, but at least we look like we will make a fight of it now. before we looked so destined for relegationm, it alomost felt the season was over. We now have something to play for and I am enjoying the season again.

Had that been Ba, he would easily have had 4 in the first half.

it wasn't and he didn't

Big Ern Along way to go and the odds are still against us

As we sit one point from safety, having won 3 of our last 4 games and with most of our relegation rivals still to play us at the Mad Stad, feel free to explain why.

Just because too many wrist slitters had us relegated weeks ago doesn't mean the odds are still stacked against us.........................even if some them seem to wish this was the case :|

Don't get me wrong had a great weekend but you feel so out of it up in the gods. Same as OT - don't like that either.

Fair enough, You'd better add Sunderland to your list of grounds to avoid as well if you don't like the Subbuteo view. United only stick you up in the gods for Cup games, normally we are lower down in the corner.

cracking weekend
cracking finish to the game

impressed with the new passy possession football we are attempting to play in the last two games, even if it doesnt always work.
and i like the keep it tight for an hour, stay in the game, then go 4-4-2 for the last 30 mins and go for the win tactics.

obviously lefondre played well, as did federici
but kebe, liegertwood, kelly, marriappa and pog all worked incredibly hard and had very good games too.liked the way guthrie looked to pull the strings, although it didnt really come off.

It's a great ground on many levels- In the city center, looks like no other ground, awe inspiring size, and the way the main stand overlooks the cityscape is obviously intentional.

But you are incredibly far from the action, and if the home support isn't great (it wasn't on saturday) than it can lead to a flat atmosphere.

It wasn't helped by their being two areas, about a mile apart, where Toon fans were singing. One near us and the other bloody miles away. Sort it out Newcastle!

Another shout for the Pog. Got a fair bit of abuse in the first half and ran his socks off. I, for one, salute you sir!

I like to have a clear view of the game which is my main gripe with it.

I also thought the atmosphere was terrible. I do think with high stands like that you lose the acoustics a bit as its exactly the same at OT.

Agree about the view of the city - really nice.

Citeh's is my favourite ground. The acoustics are top notch & it's like a cauldron - really imposing.

doubt youll get many better views of the entire pitch tbf

and the roar of noise generated by the toon fans when they could be arsed, or when they werent abusing their manager was acoustically impressive
