Had a day to reflect on last night. Thoughts are:
1) Thank you The Google / SatNav for re-routing onto the M6... and back via Watlington because of the A34 being closed.
To the important stuff:
1) Morrison - simply immense. My MOTM. Pretty much cleaned up everything in the area. Loud and vocal marshalling Miazga and Moore. Distribution decent, too. What a bargain. As a trio they are very, very effective and will get better.
2) One very decent save from Rafael and distribution much quicker with better options. A couple of very good punches, too, similar to those against Cardiff. He obviously gives the defence huge confidence.
3) Yids and Omar are becoming very, very good wing backs. I thought Richards was MOTM against Cardiff and, while he didn't quite reach those heights against the Throstles, he was still very good. Lots of running, great positional play and closing down. A bit of crossing practice needed? Yids was dead on his feet at the end. Up and down, up and down. All heart and passion and never give up.
4) Pele was better. Solid and did the important stuff simply and effectively. His awareness and reading the game is his strength. Needs to get up to the pace of the Chump, though. Got caught more than a couple of times dawdling.
5) Swift and Ejaria. I wouldn't change them for any other two centre mids in the division. Swifty just oozes class and given a fraction of time and space can open up any defence. Ovie, well, no-one sure as hell knows what he's going to do.... even if he does himself. The ball sticks to his feet and he's up there with Blakey and Robin. He could look up a little more and maybe use the ball more/quicker, but if it ain't broke don't try to fix it. Things won't always come off but the element of "what's next?" is worth the gamble.
6) Puscas - one delightful, quick thinking back heel on the edge of the box which didn't quite come off, and a rasping shot from a ridiculous angle that was hit with real venom, but he didn't work with well Boie, IMO. Maybe a hangover from Sunday - and ploughing a bit of a lone furrow - but there is certainly lots, lots more to come.
7) Boie - I was a bit "meh" about him. For someone called the "Bull" or some such nonsense, he was too easily pushed off the ball, wasn't really on the pace and didn't offer a huge amount. Much prefer Joao there causing confusion with his Ejaria-esque gangliness.

Joao offers something different. He has a football brain - unlike Meite - and has more of a first touch and close control - unlike Meite - but he needs to spend less time on his arse - just like Meite - and man up and use his physicality more.
Rino was decent when he came on and Adam provided the comedy moment of the night when he completely brickwalled an Albion player who flew over his shoulder. But, really, my 90 year old Ma has more pace than him....
I really hope Olise gets a run - maybe in favour of Boie - because that lad has real talent and, IMO, is the pick of all our young'uns.
