What Stone took issue with was the fact that every time Lita got the ball he tried to run Collacini wide and outmuscle him in exactly the same way. 7 times he counted (might have been more in the end I stopped listening after about an hour) and every time Collacini did exactly the same thing - stood tall, stayed strong and calmly dispossessed him. I think he said "That's SEVEN times he's done that! He's GOT to try something different. That really is brain dead."

He was often left on his own up against him, don't forget Coloccini is more than likely going to the world cup with Argentina, he's no mug and he had a very good game saturday. Stone was right he got no change out of him. Lita isn't the most skillful he doesn't really have many tricks and he was forced into doing lots of the work that Kitson and then Bent needed to be doing. Going deep to collect it, go wide to collect crap hopeful balls. By the end you could see the frustration in him as any time he got half a yard he was shooting from some ridiculous angles.

The problem stemmed mainly from Boro's chronic lack of service and both their 'target men' having stinkers.

He always had a bit of a languid style, even when he was at his best sometimes he looked a bit disinterested
