Which half? The away (Eastern) half was obviousy about 1000+ down, but in the other side (non-ST sales) I couldn't see any more than the odd 1 or 2 empty seats.

The home bit, obviously. I was shocked with seeing how many seats there were empty, I had a load of freebies west upper and only managed to get one person tag along, mind you it was cold and 'only boro'

Did Madejski gives any hint as to why expansion might be delayed? Did he suggest lower demand or that he doesn't want to do it whilst he is looking for a new billionnaire owner?

ON BBCRB it was in the context of being asked about progress with his plans to sell the club. He said that having put a sound infrastructure in place it now needed a billionaire to take it to the next level. The interviewer then referred to the expansion and JM said that having obtained planning consent the development would be something for whoever took over to take forward rather than him. He then went on to say no suitable purchasers had yet emerged and the usual stuff about not cutting and running.

Tickets are also selling well for the New Year's Day game against Portsmouth, with less than 1,000 seats remaining.

It's all relative.

Pompey and Fulham are our league derbies at the moment, but because Fulham are in London, they have bigger fish to fry.

It's virtually impossible to sell out a whole ground so there are going to be empty seats who ever is playing and no matter how big the ground is.

As soon as Reading start winning again, the glory boys will be back.. Personally I think it would be good to get another 5000 seats in, just to ensure demand is met (this is coming from an exiled fan who really struggled to get tickets last year), but cant see how that is economically viable..

So I conclude that until the club is established fully in the prem, it seems a little premature and a tad pointless to start expanding.
