The best referees tend to be the ones you don't notice and I am not a huge fan of this celebrity culture which seems to come with refereeing these days (courtesy of Mr Poll). Just a personal opinion of course; I tend to think that honours should be used - and sparingly at that, please - to reward those sportsmen who have achieved the highest honours and standards in their field and been a true ambassador for their sport (granted, Webb has achieved that, but he isn't a sportsman per se).
