Well, that's three of us then.Royal Lady wrote:I think the fan's should have a veto on changes to the club's name/shirts etc - not bothered about Kingsley or Queensley to be fair.
If a new owner tried to change the strip to Red and white with no hoops it would make a very big difference to me. Crest not so important as that has changed a few times since I started supporting.Green wrote:A case of locking the stable door long after the horse has bolted for this disillusioned fan.
Which one would you protect? Does the current strip/crest/nickname have any more resonance than any of the previous? Not to me, so I couldn't really give a damn about any "veto".
When we abandoned hoops in 1983 I believe the reaction was quite quiet, despite us adopting the national colours of a country we'd been at war with a year previous! Anything better than Thames Valley United yellow I guess.UpThePrem wrote:I admit I wasn't around at the time but what was the reaction in the early 80's to early 90's when the strip was changed to either blue stripes (large stripes) and wholly blue.

Even if they come up with proper hoops they always figure out a way to muck it up just enough to make you want to see next year's because it will be better.Ian Royal wrote:Sounds like a positive to me.
Although if we can't convince the club to give us a decent hooped kit, I'm not sure how much chance there is for this.
