Middlesborough Easter Tuesday

Hi all have been an avid reader of this site from down under for a while and have finally managed to swing a trip back to the UK in April. The only home match that fits into my plans is on Easter Tuesday. What is the best method of getting 4 tickets? Would I be able to get 4 together as a walk up on the night?
Should add last Reading game I saw was in Season 1972/73 prior to the family moving to Aus, can remember living about 5 houses up from Elm Park and playing football in the players carpark with my brothers. We also used to go to just about every game including the reserves! Any advice on making this a memorable experience...best pubs, best seats etc would be much appreciated.

You'll have absolutely no problem getting 4 tickets together. I would recommend you buy them before getting here, then you have more of a choice on seats and things like that.

Walking is quite a distance from the town - about 2 miles, so on an evening game, it's probably easier to get bus up like everyone else.

Seats... not sure to be honest, South stand is the easiest as season ticket holders aren't put there. But not sure if other areas have tickets to buy on an adhoc basis.

Pubs... loads in town - others can probably recommend somewhere. I always reply the same with this - "what do you want?". i.e. are you with family, children and want a sit down meal and some beer. Or will you be with other guys and just care more about drinking?

Think it'll cost you more on the night. Give the club a call and they'll help you out.

If you prefer some atmosphere, book in East Stand, Y26. There's a decent selection of seats near the back just before the corner.

Finally back home. Dissappointed about missing out on the playoffs but did get to see my first match for 40 years with the win against Boro. Had a great day visiting old spots around Reading and then the MAd Stad for the match. Got some good kit and had a great time.

Hope it is not 40 years before I can get back!

Big Foot- Visited my old house in Kent Road, old school- Wilson Primary, had a pie at Sweeney and Todds and a beer in a couple of pubs. Showed the kids where I used to play for the Youth Club at Prospect Park and the Reading Cricket Club on Sonning Lane.
