Do something about Tom Hark

It's my understanding that the majority of supporters wish that Tom Hark was removed from the goal celebrations. The only problem is trying to get the club and combined effort to tell RFC we don't want it anymore. Obviously if 2 or 3 people complain it won't do any good.

Could BBC Berkshire use their profile and publicity to get a bit more interest in it. Maybe Peachy could ask for opinions from listeners during his morning show.

After Saturday's game it was a much better celebration after the first goal as their was no music, but the second goal and third goal it was dampened a bit by the music.

Quite agree, we don't want to be led like this but if the club insist on something being played please could they at least use some original music not the same one everyone else does.

By the way, please ask the club what happened to Sweet Caroline that the players wanted to be used last season....

I can't believe how much of a big deal the club made of Sweet Caroline last season, and the fact that all the fans sang to it. I (like many others) accepted it as "our new song", or whatever you want to call it.

I knew it wasn't played in pre-season, and thought they would debut it on Saturday but didn't.

The atmosphere was absolutely amazing on saturday, and didn't need any music backing for celebrations.

But we really need to change it I think.

For once Jerry St Clair - I agree with you

Yesterday the atmosphere was so brilliant and "alive" that the music did not improve the celebration, and in fact (for me anyway) ruined it. It was chaos in Y24/Y25/Y26 and from what I've herad it was similar else where.

Keep music out of the RFC matches.... please?

The guys behind me had to catch a guy from falling on me and crushing me in his celebration. If i didn't know better i'd swear he was trying to crowd surf. I sit Northwest.. so i'm guessing it was all over the place.

FWIW, I thought the clebrations were a bit muted and felt everyone was waiting for the music after the first goal. Agree Tom Hark is pants but despite hating ithe music early on I don't mind it now. If it was up to me.....Terry & June.

The QPR game and the party thingy we had at the Stadium. Sidwell going mental to it and orchestrating the crowd. Just many laughs on the two days and in the pubs before and after, fans singing it in the pub - sounded shocking but the pub was rocking!

Well the team asked for Motorhead to be played when they came out so they're probably not too fussed. They may well see it as the song of last season and want to leave it at that.

where has this understanding come from?

40 odd regular posters on here out of a crowd of 24 000?

Or have you and a few others organised a questionaire of a significant sample (say around 6000) on their way into the ground?

If you really want to do something about tom hark, contact STAR about organising a questionaire seeking fans opinions about ""match entertainment"

then have 2 people outside every gate on a match day asking people on their way in to the ground on a broad range of topics... pre match , half time , kingsley ... etc

if the survey supports your theory, take the findings back to the club, possibly through STAR, and see what can be done

Precisely. Its my understanding that a huge proportion of the fans get involved when TH is played, so that blows a hole in your case. The problem is that it is 2 or 3 people who are complaining - they are just all on this board and extremely vocal about their view.

Try watching the crowd next time we score and you will see the effect that TH has - and it is quite noticably positive.

all i am trying to do is say coz 40 people on here moan about it doesn't mean its not liked by the majority of the crowd, otehrwise why do so many people "sing along" when its played

I have added some constructive comments on how to go about getting a real arguement behind your case and taking a proposal to the club rather than just moaning at the BBC that you don;t like it

one idea whould be to have a different (appropriate??) song for every player, whatever player scores they play their tune
