Why does the bloke on the tanoy always say the substitutes before the official starting lineup?? it completely takes away the buzz of announcing the starting xi as everybody has already cheered for the subs. i dont understand his reason for doing it that way round??

What annoys me most about him, is how he whizzes through the opposition team at breakneck speed and very quietly. Before going through the Reading team in a completely unnecessary hyperbolic fashion.

Some of us are actually interested to know who the opposition are, you moron, so stop being so childish.

It's yet another example of how the whole Back The Boys team seem intent on pandering to the lowest common denominator amongst our support, and thus turn the place into something akin to a creche.

When they do it on the Continent it sounds really impressive in my view. Arsenal actually started doing that in the game against us (it's in the programme) and having recently heard it on TV it sounds embarrassing. If your going to do it then everyone has to do it and Arsenal's attempt is pathetic.

I was lucky enough to go to an AS Roma game a few seasons ago. Marco delVecchio was subbed towards the end, he had played pretty well, the announcer read out the substitution then shouted "GRAZIE MARCO!!!" as he walked off and the crowd went mental, that was quite cool.

I can't quite see our annoucer saying "CHEERS BLAKEY!" having quite the same effect though
