Surely this is a wind up?!!soggy biscuit wrote:Can anyone at BBCRB confirm something that a few of us have heard which is that Mick Gooding has been asked to tone down his accent to sound more local?
May sound ridiculous but a few of us here know some at BBCRB quite well and all the talk over the past few days has been of this request. Apparently they have received a few complaints from people not happy to hear a Geordie as an RFC commentator and so have asked him to try and sound more local. He is reported to be (understandably) unhappy with this but when faced with a choice of changing his accent or potentially losing his job he has agreed to it.
