Season Ticket Prices for next season

I know where still a long way off but directors will be looking at pricing plans for next season and I believe if we were to get promoted i really hope the club would do something for the loyal supporters.

if we go up I reckon season ticket holders who renewed when we got relegated should have to pay the same price as this season with people purchasing a ticket for next season paying more.

Thoughts? Surely if enough people agree with this it can be put to the club?

I'd agree that the pricing will need to be done very carefully. I would imagine the plans are already in place though.

It would be ideal if they simply freeze prices, I don't see any need to distinguish between renewals and new STH any more than they do already to be honest.

If they do freeze prices can we all agree not to moan if we don't put in a bid for Kaka over the summer !!

Newcastle cutting by 10% Freeze pre match prices, and a small cut in ST price, would do for me

or no increas at all if promoted.

I would really think that a price freeze is the most feasible option. A further reduction unlikely. It's going to be a very fine line as football is essentially additional expenditure that some will either not be able to afford or will not treat as a priority.

There's lots of ways RFC "could" sort out "renewing" STH's. But lets face it; They won't.

We've not benefited from being a "loyal"

The club shop will more than be able to subsidise a decrease in season ticket prices.

I'd personally be surprised at a freeze given there was a significant reduction for this season. I'd be expecting a small increase, not to the same level as last season. (should we go up of course, if not then probably freeze, maybe down a little).

I'm not suggesting that they shouldn't use whatever means to attract people to games at all - that would be silly!! However I feel that they know that people, like myself, will renew whatever the price. Unfortunately I fall into the category of "loyal" and if we go up I will pay 545 again, even though I live in Bournemouth.

It would be very surprising if there is a price feeze for renewing STH next season if we go up. But what with the fall in STH in the 2nd season of the premiership & the current state of the UK - RFC should to do something on that £545. I mean, how much is Wigans ST's? Aren't they cheaper than what we pay now? (I don't know the answer to this, so maybe wrong)

Looking forward I think that RFC should reward year-in-year-out renewals. We are their banked income, and they should be aiming to increase this. Maybe a higher discount for every year you renew. So instead of the "save a tenner" every season, you would get a bigger discount for every renewal you purchase (obviously capped at some point) This would encourage renewals, and slowly build up the ammount of STH each season (maybe)

The Royals have announced that 2009/10 season tickets are on sale now at this season's prices - regardless of which division we're in next season!

Between now and 6pm on 3rd April, existing season ticket holders can renew their seats at current prices, with nothing more to pay if the Royals subsequently gain promotion back up into the Barclays Premier League this season.

Chairman Sir John Madejski said, "We are delighted to make this offer to our loyal season ticket holders, whose support we have very much appreciated this season.

"We're acutely aware of the difficult economic climate that is affecting everybody, and hopefully our fans will agree that the potential of watching Barclays Premier League football at Coca-Cola Championship prices represents superb value for money."

Season tickets can be renewed by telephone on 0844 249 1871, on the official online ticketing service, or in person at the Madejski Stadium Ticket Office.

Season ticket holders will also receive a £10 discount on the 2009/10 replica shirt, plus many other benefits.

Credit where credit is due, Reading have done well with this. It cost 545 in the Premier League last season so to pay 425 is good

They are a business and they don't want people waiting until they KNOW which division we are in. THey want people to renew REGARDLESS of which division we are in.

Those that will renew whatever the outcome won't be the ones complaining. Those that have doubts over renewing will.

Well, to be fair I think other clubs are doing things along similar lines, aren't they? Norwich are already on their second "discount/freeze deadline" and their fans are potentially looking at third tier football next season.

I see this as reward for those who stuck with the club when we got relegated. If (a big if) we get promoted and plastics end up paying more, I won't be crying for them. Having said that, there's no way I can budget for next season and come up with the readies in the next few weeks, so it looks like we might have to miss out on the offer.
