So instead, he strengthened, paying £15,000 for Andy Rogers, Plymouth's left-winger and Millwall £35,000 for their striker, Kevin Bremner. At the time, it looked as though he would succeed Senior, who was expected to leave as had his predecessor, Kerry Dixon – most likely for Benfica.
But he did not. Their English manager, John Mortimore, was behind the deal but the club's president had never heard of him, preferring to pursue a Romanian international instead. As befitting his reputation as a dressing room wag, Senior understood – "fair comment", he admitted – and later, took small consolation when informed of Benfica's poor start to the season.

If Liverpool win say another 3, having already seen off their main rivals and signing Isak and possibly Guehi, it could get interesting....but not looked at who they are playing.Silver Fox wrote:Your money's safe!Mid Sussex Royal wrote:

Down to Liverpool and Boro already
Next 10 league games for both Middlesbrough and Liverpool, can't see either side getting close to the 13 wins.Mid Sussex Royal wrote:If Liverpool win say another 3, having already seen off their main rivals and signing Isak and possibly Guehi, it could get interesting....but not looked at who they are playing.Silver Fox wrote:Your money's safe!Mid Sussex Royal wrote:

Cannot deny they are absolutely flying and scoring for fun, but whilst they are ahead of where we were, we won our next 8 on the trot.Brogue wrote:Coventry match day 18: 43 points

I'm assuming they are going to beat it and fair play if they do.bloody Volvo driver wrote:Cannot deny they are absolutely flying and scoring for fun, but whilst they are ahead of where we were, we won our next 8 on the trot.Brogue wrote:Coventry match day 18: 43 points

Just had a nose at their up and coming games and they have some (on paper) tough looking fixtures, including double header against Ipswich and visits to Southampton and B’ham. If they are there or thereabouts after game 26 when we slightly took our foot off the peddle, then I reckon 106 good be in jeopardy.
