Can renew this year for same price and get 230 loyalty points, but only if I go to every home league game.

Same price split over 12 months, same points if I join One Royal Core, plus I get a sticker etc.

Or I can pay an extra £144 and get 4 extra cup matches with One Royal Plus. Get 324 points if I go to all of those plus every home league game.

If your age-bracket is going to change during the season, then you have to think about it. 18-24 to Adult, buy a ST.

Adult to 65+, get a One Royal subscription.
Always presuming Reading a) get drawn at home & b) manage to stay in a competition long enough to get home draws.

Even as a newbie, with no points, it's going take 107 games as a One Royal Elite, to get over 1500 points. That's two seasons of every league and cup game home and away.

Is there anyone that desperate to go to Bromley away, that you pay around £30 extra a month over the Core membership?
if you have the top tier subscription (Elite) it’ automatically puts you in the top bracket for first dibs on away tickets. Even if you have zero loyalty points. Essentially pushing in the queue past everyone below 1500 points

Does it make sense to get a subscription on 6 May when you're paying for 3 months of no football?

I get that you're always going to be doing that with a 12 month subscription, but you don't have to start off with it!

Makes sense but that’ll depend on their cancellation policy, i.e. what happens if you cancel after x months, if indeed you are allowed to cancel :?

Would you be allowed to take up a subscription on 1st August and cancel it on 31st May, then take another on the next 1st August? So you are getting the benefits of the subscription for just the duration of the season.

It says that there's a 12 month minimum contract with 3 months notice.

So, in theory, you could cancel for one summer every 2 years and save yourself 3 months subscription.

for the first 12 months you cannot cancel, after which you can cancell at any point. but please note there is a 3 month cancellation policy. If you renew before the price freeze cut off date in say june you'll be subcribed for the year. The following june if you decide to cancell you'll be paying till spetember

Actual lol if you are paying extra for cup games and then we are drawn away in the FA and Carabao Cups first up and beaten in both.

I saw the Facebook post about this. Several replies, and as expected all are just negative, bitter and moaning. "fold the club", "absolute joke", "what about us who have had season tickets for years..."

I really really oxf*rd despise our fans sometimes

Had we been 'consulted with', rather than 'presented at'
I would say that's slightly worrying if that is how the owners and the club are going to treat STAR going forwards.

Back in September, I contacted the club about a monthly subscription service. I sent them a Substack post detailing my thoughts (link). It was based on Plymouth's Evergreen scheme.

The key difference between what I proposed and this is my proposal didn't replace season tickets. In fact, it offered discounts for season tickets which increased when being in the higher categories. It was closer to the Digital/Essential categories than the Elite/Plus/Core categories. It offered additional things to those who wanted them.

Also, it's interesting the article says:
The One Royal project began in October 2025, when the ownership and leadership group began reviewing new and innovative ways to grow the football club while also responding to the changing needs of supporters.
:?

Still going through all of this, but right now I'm not particularly happy with this.

It's basically replacing annualised season tickets, as it seems to get any of these benefits you have to be on the monthly plan. I prefer to purchase things in one go, so I don't have ongoing costs. If I can't cancel for the first twelve months anyway, why can't essentially do an annual payment rather than a monthly payment should I wish to?

Have to say the annualised costs are insane. The Elite category words out as £762.84 per year in the East Stand and Lower West.

I'm a season ticket holder but for a variety of different reasons, probably can't get to somewhere between 5 and 10 games a season.

Next season, it appears that I have an option to either pay up front for a season ticket or commit to 12 monthly payments, yet only get loyalty points for the games I can actually get to.

Looks like I might be better off not making any commitment and just paying for tickets when I can attend.

Sounds like the sort of announcement British Airways make when they alter their loyalty programme and/or cut back on service offerings:

'Based on feedback from our customers'

Again, I might be missing something, but as far as I can see there's no difference in benefits, points or price between renewing a ST or taking out One Royal Core. And with a ST you're not tied into the 12+3 month contract.

With both:
– Guaranteed seat for home League games
– 10 points per game, home or away
– Priority access for away games
– Quarterly magazine
– Invite to club experiences
– 10% hospitality discount

Only thing you miss out on is a bumper sticker!

It looks like a Royals TV video pass may be cheaper (12x£12=£144) compared to £180 for this season?

So when you switch a game from Saturday to Thursday night and my children who can’t go because they have school the next day they will lose points?! Great way to reward their loyalty!
Only thing thats annoyed me reading into the season tickets is the Loyalty points being more for higher tiers? Loyalty shouldnt be determined via wealth at all
Anyone else feeling like we’re being treated like customers rather than fans..?
Understandable that any new initiative is met with cynicism/apathy after the season #ReadingFC have had, but the club have done well with this.

Season ticket prices frozen, you can pay in 12 loads rather than one big outlay, or you can just get the traditional ST if you prefer.
What a joke that is.

As someone who lives a long way from Reading, so there's no way I'd need a ST or a Sub, there's now no loyalty points unless you sign up?!?

Very very poor.
I like this new venture from the club and One Royal is part of modernising the options for fans in 2026.

I understand it’s not for everyone, but it’s good we’re trying to be innovative.

You can also get your ST just like normal
Seems like a good idea. But tiering loyalty points based on what you can and can’t afford is a crap idea.

Two people attending every game show the same loyalty regardless of if they sit in ‘cheap’ seats or hospitality
