Surprised to read given the Iraola link that seemingly every team except Liverpool is sniffing around Bournemouth's Alex Scott. He's exactly the sort of high energy, between-the-lines midfielder that Liverpool were missing last season.

Rumours in Spain say Real Madrid are set to bid for Rodri, after Florentino Perez changed his mind on signing the player.

Liverpool have been linked previously but now the standard FSG “let’s have a cr@p transfer window” has kicked in so they’ll be out of the running for anyone that they might actually need. Anyway Bournemouth have said that all of Scott, Kroupi and Rayan are not for sale at any price (which probably means they’ll all have left by the end of next week).

Bizarre stuff at Wolves, where striker Tolu Arokodare forced the cancellation of a training session by sitting down in the middle of the pitch and refusing to move - in protest at the club blocking a move to Fiorentina.

According to wiki Wolves have now increased security at their training ground to prevent Tolu from returning.

So, this is a thing of wot I did not know.

In the MLS, transfers are impacted by 'discovery rights'. Every team can put five players on its 'discovery list', which gives them first dibs on players not contracted to an MLS side. That's it, they just register them on their list. If more than one team wants a player on their list, they join a queue based on who applied first.

So Casemiro is supposedly joining Inter Miami, but he was on LA Galaxy's 'discovery list'. There's a review going on as there appears to be some debate as to whether Inter Miami have properly compensated LA Galaxy, and more importantly, whether they did so in a timely manner (i.e. before negotiating with Casemiro). All very....American.

I can't begin to understand how Chelsea aren't running straight into total financial annihilation. They can make player sales each summer, but at some point the long contracts, which means they have large player assets to write down against those sales, will begin to bite. Surely? Example Cucurella - £47.5m fee from Real Madrid, offset by two years' of his six-year deal left, means they also have to book £20m as his 'asset' (transfer fee from Brighton was c. £60m) leaves the club. That net £27.5m only pays for, in accounting terms, 18 months of Morgan Rogers.

They'll get there - just give it a bit more time.

Rumours that Chelsea are now working to hijack the Guimares to Arsenal deal.
