While pleased with the reduction in most season ticket prices (assuming it isn't an indication of our imminent activities in the transfer market) I think the club is taking a bit of a risk with keeping under 16 prices at the level they are.
While I'm not overly keen on screaming kids everywhere making it like an England U21 game, these are the people most likely to move away now that there is no Prem football on their doorstep.
150 quid is quite a lot both if you are under 16 or if you are buying adult season tickets and having to pay 150 notes a throw to bring the rest of the family.
I think next season we will certainly get 17-18000 for the vast majority of league games. However, keeping the kids coming (aswell as having success on the pitch) is likely to be differecne between that and regularly getting 20000 or more.

£150 is the equivilent to £6.50 a game. Hardly a lot now is it. Ok it might be a fair bit to shell out to begin with. If you buy all tickets individually before the day it will cost you £276 and to buy all on a match day £368, thus meaning you will be saving alot in the long run. Thats the way people will need to look at it IF these kids are adamant on going to EVERY home game.

But surely getting people to stump up in advance and committing to the full amount plays a big part in things like working out funds available for signings ?
It's difficult to base a year or 6 months budgets on people turning up and paying on the day.

Match tickets prices for under 12s have DOUBLED from last seasons silver catagory games.

Not at all. But you seem to be forgetting the huge amounts of increased income the club has received and basically, not spent. And they cant use the excuse of a ground extension enymore. Yes wages have gone up, but thats peanuts in comparison to the income not invested in the team.

Based on previous Chamionship prices, £425 is a huge INCREASE. What has been charged for Premiership football is no comparison. Some people seem to be happy with the prices because they thought that the club were going to charge over £500 for championship football. Not a chance that was going to happen in my book. Just scare mongering to convince people that the new prices are justified, when in fact they are not.

we never made any thing but losses previous to the prem,
last year we made 6 million profit, and id say all of that went on new players and increased wages.
just becuase the players failed, and the wages went to people who you may think didnt quite deserve them in the end, does not mean the money wasnt spent.


look around the championship at the other prices
QPRs for instance-rich new owners, and still fleecing their fans. and they aint the only ones
for the quality of football/players we will have i reckon 430 is pretty cheap for me personally

Have to agree with this. I personally expected that the club would leave prices as they were and justify this because of the 4 extra games - as most other relegated clubs have done in the past.

And I'm sure they could have got away with this - people would have grumbled, people would moaned, and maybe 10%-15% wouldn't have renewed, but they could so easily have done that.

So any decrease is welcome, and the fact that it is a reasonably substantial on (i.e. over a £100) can only be a good thing, which will make a lot of difference to people.

Criticise if you feel you must, but I honestly can't see the events of the last 10 days happening at any other club - and that includes the price reductions.

for the sensible among us I'd say the Brum stats confirm that we now have a perfectly reasonable ST price for a great view all around the ground.

For the idiots no doubt they confirm that you can get a ST cheaper at St Andrews than at the Mad and that RFC consistently rip off under 12s

I'm constantly amazed by people's inability to grab hold of the concept of inflation. If the club dropped prices to £360 now, they would be charging you significantly less that they were 3 years ago. Backdated to 2005, the current price is the equivalent of about £383 then. Given the cost base of the club and nature of the squad, that seems pretty fair to me - a pound a match more in real terms. Unlike £545 in the Prem, which was extorionate when TV money and lack of investment in the team is taken into account.

In real terms, we'll all be paying eleven pounds less per match next season than we did in the prem in 06/07. That's 60% of prem match prices - seems fair to me.

I was considering getting a ST this season (after a year out), but as I now have two under 12s to pay for (rather than just the one as previously), I think I'll pass.

In our family I have to find cash for 2 kids, an under 21 and 2 adults. It bites harder when there are more to buy. Some clubs offer special family prices. Possibly something to be considered?

Part of the problem with kids is that bedtimes may stop them attending midweek. That may mean an adult having to miss the game - or babysitting money on top of the kid ticket. And if you don't have an ST you cannot be sure of sitting together....

Agreed - and over the past 16 years football tickets have risen in price significantly faster than the rate of inflation. It's not right, but it's the way it is.

Also, it could be argued that a team expected to compete for promotion, with ex-PL players, is more attractive to watch than a team expected to finish mid-table, so a comparison with ticket prices which were set at the start of our last CCC season isn't quite fair.
