Dirk, thanks for checking. On their site it specifically says £29 for non members on the link I posted.Svlad Cjelli wrote:In my FSF capacity, I’ve just spoken to the person at Norwich responsible for setting these prices.
Firstly, though, there was an error in the original post – the price differential is just £2, not £4. £27 was for a different part of the ground, but for the same stand as us (”equivalent accommodation” in FL-speak) the price for home supporters is £29 for Norwich City members or £31 for non-members.
Of course, we all are able to pay £20 to join the Norwich City membership scheme and then we’d get a discount of £2 for each Norwich City ticket we bought – it’s a little FL loophole that some clubs use to charge visiting supporters more – but in that it’s no different to the way we charge a couple of quid extra for sales on the day of the match, which is something that frequently impacts visiting supporters.
I did ask if Norwich would pass on the members’ reduction to members of Reading’s membership scheme – he would “consider it”, but says Norwich members were not offered a discount when they came here, which does surprise me, as we always used to offer this to visiting clubs. (A few years ago we offered the members’ discount to Manchester United, they took the discount but just didn’t pass it onto their supporters!)
I need to check more with the RFC ticket office now....
BTW, Norwich have about 1,000 non-members per game who pay the extra £2 each, and they feel they have no alternative to these prices as they are "£23M in debt" .....
Yes, I was specifically told that Leeds supporters paid £33 each and there were over a thousand of them.PieEater wrote: Did they confirm the prices are correct for the game banding, or are they saying that if this game was banded as an A+ game that the tickets would be even more expensive i.e £33?
All that would do would drive prices up for everyone, as well as providing clubs with excuses to charge these type of prices.PieEater wrote:We should have tit for tat pricing and charge them £31 on their visit to the Mad Stad.
Don't think that argument holds - we all have to draw the line somewhere.bcubed wrote:It is very annoying but compared to the overall cost of the day it's a relatively small extra charge
So not to go beacuse of an extra £5 say is not that logical, perhaps more of a principle at stake than actual additional cost?
Agree we all have to draw the line somewhere, but aren't you saying that not going in this case is a decision based on a principle not financeRed wrote:Don't think that argument holds - we all have to draw the line somewhere.bcubed wrote:It is very annoying but compared to the overall cost of the day it's a relatively small extra charge

It's not a case of not being able to afford it, just a case that you feel you are being ripped off and as such are not willing to pay it.
