I thought there was a club policy on fans wearing oposition colours in the home section? I know Swansea won't allow people if they are wearing other clubs shirts.

the club might have a policy but it's not one that's easy to enforce.

Apparently Swansea had rows and rows of Man Utd supporters last season. Most had United fleeces/jackets on..

For your info a group of four or five spurs fans were ejected from the North Stand by Tangos in the first half yesterday as witnessed by myself.
They did look like studenty types and didn't put up a struggle.

I was in the South Stand and I was not amused to see a kid in front of me jumping up and down for the Spurs goals. I also saw somebody blatantly wearing a Spurs shirt in the concourse. FFS! At the gate, what does it say on the sign above? I'll tell you. It says:

HOME SUPPORTERS ONLY

It's a joke that this notice is not respected.

went in the south stand (home bit obv!) yesterday....awful awful awful......full of daytrippers and spurs fans....this should just be a designated neautral section like fulham have. its basically this anyway....back to Y25 for newcastle game

You can't actually buy tickets for the East Stand though, can you?

I think it is something we will have to get used to this year.

Let's face it if the tickets have made it through to general sale Reading fans will have had plenty of opportunity to go if they wanted to, most of the away fans in that section sit quietly and don't wear colours. It's also the least 'hard core' (yes I know the rest isn’t exactly the Lazio ultras section but still) area of the ground for reading support so there is unlikely to be any trouble.

Presumably season ticket holders are using their points to get tickets for friends who support the opposition as wel.

Well yes actually, it's very easy to enforce. It's the home end. If someone is wearing the shirt/coat etc of the opposing team, then the stewards have the right to remove them from the ground, and if need be, ask a police officer to accompany them when approaching the supporter to leave.

Fact is, this happens at EVERY football ground in the Premier League, and at the end of the day it's bums on seats and money in the coffers. If they don't cause any trouble then it's fair game. If by some miracle we stay up this season, then plans will be put into overdrive to expand the east stand to bring the capacity to 30,000, and then all the extra away fans and fairweathers will be happy.

i have a ST in Y25....i moved my seat for a game so i could take my daughter to her first game

Ah, OK. Can understand why you won't be doing that again... At the Stoke game at the back, there was a bit of atmosphere, but it wasn't a great place to sit last time we were up, and I don't expect it will be this time either.
