I remember someone complaining that Man United were not given enough tickets on some occasion....liverpool fans saying they could fill a particular stadium several times over and various other comments. Stop whining, it does not affect you now that you're out, the fact that Barnsley now are certain to play at Wembley, as are Portsmouth, West Brom and Cardiff.... Personally, if Reading were in this 'plight' despite being a poverty stricken student, I think, stepping back at it all and realising that this is perhaps a problem Id rather have than not is something to remember.

yes the FA are trying to enforce damage limitation on costs, but christ.... had you the opportunity to play/go to wembley you'd take it as a lower league side (or even portsmouth) but to have the chance of playing there twice...fook me!!!! LUCKY FECKERS and fair play to them

The magic of the cup

Because, as we all know, the real magic of the cup is a United V Chelsea final for the 89th time...the final "everyone" wants to see.

Couldn't be happier to see none of the big four/big six whatever anywhere near the final...cup success is not a "right" of the big clubs just because they're big.

I've never understood that - working class fans? I don't think that much of the attendence at a Reading game is occupied by top class executives, I would assume most are working class. As for standing - that has no relevance.

Yep - but that's the only reason they're playing the semi-finals at Wembley in the first place. FA Cup semi-finals should be held at a neutral ground like Villa Park or OT, just as they always were, and save Wembley for the final itself.

Greed, but nothing will be done about that.
It does take the gloss away, losing a semi was always about missing out on Wembley as much as being dumped out of the cup.

If anything the semi's should be played at the Millenium Stadium, then the final at Wembley

Dont think that would be very fair on Barnsley having to play Cardiff in Cardiff

Of the four, only Barnsley might have trouble selling their allocation. I can't see the other three having any problems. There will be that lovely red stripe of an empty middle tier as well, so that's 15,000 less seats to fill straight away.

If Barnsley make the final even they'll sell out easily.

I'm hoping for a Barnsley v Portmsouth final personally, with Barnsley v WBA second choice. I don't want Cardiff there. Remember 1927! They nicked our rightful place in the final on the trifling technicality of scoring three more goals than us in the semi.


Either way, I think the fact that the only people who aren't loving this semi-final line-up are big 4 gloryhunters and armchair fans makes it all the better. No doubt we'll see one or two columnists in Murdoch papers, worried about a drop in tv viewing figures, complaining about what a bad thing not having a big club there is, insisting that Chelsea v Man Utd would have been "the final the fans wanted".

I reckon they'll all sell their allocations. Yes the cLOLub WembLOLey seats may not all be sold but how often will fans of the four teams get a chance to see their team in a cup semi final as well as Wembley with a great chance of making the final.

West Brom didn't sell all of their allocation for the playoff final last year so I wouldn't be so sure that they'll sell all of their semi-final allocation...

Doubt you will get much chance of a Barnsley ticket unless you were willing to pay £55. They go on sale to ST holder's first, four per person. Then our equivalent of member card holders, two per person. Then one per person if you can produce a stub from the Ipswich game, then general sale

The thing I hate about most final tickets is the ludicrous pricing policy for families. They have specific sections that you can buy child tickets, that also happen to be the cheapest adult ticket. So when that sells out (first) you need to pay adult prices to take a child elsewhere in the stadium.
