Everyone is just following what United fans started to do in the early 90's, stand in seated areas.

The whole safe-standing argument would be helped if some of the contributors did not ruin the match for those who don’t want to stand, but happen to be sitting in the ‘wrong’ part of the ground.

I was stood for the majority of the game 3 rows from the back at Chelsea away (lower tier), and not once did anyone say sit down

Yes I think safe standing areas should introduced back into the Premiship becasue you can chant and sing more easier when you are standing but it is harder to chant when you are sitting down. It also keeps you warm because you can move around more easly rather than being stuck in your seat. I think if you were going to make a safe standing area for 2000 fans then it should be at the Corner of the East becasue they are the noiset at the ground. It would also be a good idea if the drummer from the North Stand went to the East Stand to jeer up the crowd and get them making a lot of noise. You would then want the South and North to have some drummers (like me) or trumpet players, whatever you want so you can the outsing the away fans and make the atmosphere something special. If you did this then there would be more noise at Reading FC

I agree with Drummer. I've always wanted to stand at the games and if they introduce these standing areas, then it will benefit the atmosphere and also not spoil the views of people who don't wise to stand, or small children.

why is it that the away supporters are allowed to stand at the matches and the home supporters are not. I am not in favour of standing,but when you ask why the away are not told to sit down the stewards come out with the excuse that it would cause to much bother to make them sit. I think if they chucked a few out of the ground then the rest would soon sit down and the word would get round to all othet visioting fans.

we should stand as it would create the best atmosphere most clubs allow it that i have seen and if anybody has seen european clubs they stand and they have the best atmosphere!!!! so yeah i think we should be able to stand no matter what it will create a great atmosaphere and we can really get behind the team that we alllllll love....
