1. Why have we reverted back to a plain back? Whats wrong with hoops all the way round?
2. Looks like someone has gone crazy with some tip-ex through the blue while desiging the shirt!
3. Plain colour arms, why?
4. Blue shorts? Wrong again should be white!
5. Blue socks? Wrong should be white!
Agree with Ian Royal here the whole kit looks like it has been designed by someone while on work experience at Puma.
Away kit...
I have never liked black away kits and the red bit on the shoulders and red socks makes it look like some old Swindon away kit.
-1,000,000 for both effort and design from Puma.

You are deluded if you think that the club give a daman about what supporters think or what they want, so long as you pay up, sit down and shut up. Unfortunately, we have far too many drones amongst our support who couldn't snap up a turd quick enough if you drew an RFC badge on it. As demonstrated by QPR above it is quote possible to have a smart-lookin blue and white hooped design. RFC and Puma once again manage to spaff up such a simple concept.Tad Showbiz wrote:Personally I feel us as fans (forget STAR) should put some pressure on the club to revert to full hoops on next seasons kit.

The new Reading Home Shirt draws its inspiration from the PUMA v1.10 Silhouette. Featuring a natural hand-painted stripe graphic that is enthused by the motherlands of Africa

The Puma deal that Reading signed, stipulates new kits each season IIRC. That deal runs till 2011/12. Waitrose sponsorship ends this year (2010/11).Z175 wrote:Regardless of the bizarre kit, isn't the issue more that yet again, we have TWO new kits!
I was prepared to accept this upon promotion to the premierleague, the explanation being that the sponsor had changed so we needed two new shirts anyway.
However it is the norm for most clubs to change kit every two seasons. Now I don't know that many people who buy both home and away shirts, people tend to alternate. So all this is doing is meaning the fans, who lets face it ARE the club, are continually wearing different shirts to their team - just look around you at any home game.
The similarity of the hoops means people keep their old shirts anyway, so I doubt the change raises club revenue by any significant amount. In fact, if you don't get the shirt in the first few months you tend to wear the old one and wait and this can easily lead to people buying less than every two years anyway.
Has anyone at STAR raised this issue and what was the clubs response? I acknowledge the need to raise cash, and arguably voluntary payments like shirts are better than increased season ticket prices.
Yet, as above, the shirt does make you feel part of things. With so much recent glory, selling more shirts for our low budget youth based side presumably depends on fan goodwill. A nice gesture would be acknowledging that we will keep one of these shirts for next year (preferably the away one!)

Maybe that's why the club have come up with this year's effort to help you make your mind up..eg...rubbish looking shirt no need to purchase it...yet sooo many complainents i'm sure will still be spending money on it...
This is true, you don't have to buy. BUT - Kids always want the latest kits and it puts pressure the parents to buy it.Turns8 wrote:Who cares if the shirt changes every season...you don't have to buy it!!!!!!!![]()

whoopy-do! Obviously my life is lacking. I wish I had friends that found the choice of next season's kit so enthralling. FFS, what a crock of shite! Either buy it or don't but whatever, stop fvcking moaning about it.havoc wrote:Turns8 wrote:Who cares if the shirt changes every season...you don't have to buy it!!!!!!!![]()

whether or not you buy the shirt is not the whole point.
When your team gets a shit shirt - like we have, many of us have to endure endless piss taking from friends and colleagues who are fans of rival teams - e.g Tredder on faceyb. The Newcastle fans all got it last season with the deckchair kit, Everton fans are getting it this year with their pink kit.
