I do wonder what the punishment would have been had it been an "Old Money" club like Real though, although they're not averse to some shady deals with the bank to raise money..The Independant wrote:While no one sees an expulsion from the Premier League as likely, the Football League have recently changed their rules so that any club in that situation must start again in League Two.
Well that patently isn’t true. UEFA is the governing body for football across Europe and not every country in Europe is in the EU (eg Switzerland, Norway etc.) therefore if UEFA wants to ban a naughty club from their competitions then they can do so..Franchise FC wrote:This has all the makings of a 'Bosman' moment for FFP.
Man City win this and the floodgates could be opened.
Anyway, Brexit means UEFA have no jurisdiction over English clubs, right ? That's what Ian Holloway thinks.

9 pt deduction isn't it in the PL unless they also have rules on aggravated breaches. So in theory if it's given this season will have no impact.Winston Biscuit wrote:Not winning an appeal would also mean they have broken Premier League FFP and would face a points deduction

Which is crazy, because they either broke the rules or didn't.Royal Rother wrote:Journalist Neil Lipton has said there is zero chance the PL will deduct points.
I'm not sure, but are the rules different for Uefa and the Premier League?Ascotexgunner wrote:Which is crazy, because they either broke the rules or didn't.Royal Rother wrote:Journalist Neil Lipton has said there is zero chance the PL will deduct points.
I believe the rules are slightly different. Presumably it being a second offence has added to the penalty.Hoop Blah wrote:I'm not sure, but are the rules different for Uefa and the Premier League?Ascotexgunner wrote:Which is crazy, because they either broke the rules or didn't.Royal Rother wrote:Journalist Neil Lipton has said there is zero chance the PL will deduct points.
One thing I did hear today is that City are being hit hard because of their deception not the actual breaking of the rules.
