But we'd got 40 points by then.

I know the club are looking to announce this as soon as possible - it's definitely costing them money not to have STs announced and on-sale.

But there were only two likely scenarios in early April. Staying up or relegation. Why didn't the club just work out two pricing structures in advance?

Fulham ST prices just announced apparently - friend of mine's ST has gone up to £629 but she reckons it was about £600 last year anyway.

Fulham ST prices just announced apparently - friend of mine's ST has gone up to £629 but she reckons it was about £600 last year anyway.

You can also get an adult season ticket for as little as £299! Other prices are £329, £399, £429, £499, £559 the £629 you mention and the top price £729. The vast majority of the Junior rates are £155.

No doubt some will argue that the splendour of the Mad Stad means it is only right that our ticket prices are nearer the higher end of Fulham's. However, just as the Ritz Hotel is resplendent and open to all, many can only afford the Travel Lodge!

or was it one of those imaginary broadcasts only one person ever hears?

and if he did say it, i'll be amazed if it ends up being anything more than £15-20 off the price we payed this season.

much more likely,as others have said,the cost will stay the same, but we'll be told 4 extra games mean were getting cheaper prices per game (more likely given how the club have spun things like this in the past)

anyway, we shall see....tick tock.....

The point is, what's happened to all the Premiership money? We KNOW it hasn't gone on transfer fees. And while we don't know the hard facts about the wage structure, we do know enough to say that it hasn't gone on hugely inflated wages for the players.

On that basis, it's simply unfair to expect supporters to pay any more than when we were last in the Championship, plus a modest increase to cover inflation since then.

Unless JM and his fellow directors can make a convincing case - and that would have to include complete transparency about income and expenditure over the last couple of years - no other approach to ticket pricing can be justified!

Your argument is a good one however when players contracts were negotiated in the Championship, there were inevitable clauses awarding hefty wage increases on promotion to the Premiership (the wage bill went up 3 fold on promotion, and is now 4 fold given the contract renewals and new signings since 2006). Of course, there is no reciprocal motion, so we now have a squad of players on Premiership wages in the Championship. Most of the high earners will move on (although I personally would love to see Doyle stay, and on recent form Lita as well ). These players will be replaced by cheaper alternatives, if at all, and more than likely the alternatives will not be anywhere near as good.

Personally I'd be very surprised if this is the case. It probably makes it even more likely we will lose players (besides the likes of Shorey and Hunt) but I'd be amazed if a club as thrifty as Reading haven't accounted for this.

Have you actually seen where these £299 ST's are though? Their ground is wonderfully old skool but also means farking crap views from most areas. Funnily enough the decent seating areas start at £499 and there is no way you can compare our ground to theirs on a pricing basis because of this.

Always hard to compare by grounds, but it does seem that other clubs have more varied pricing, Cant see Fulham selling 18-000 ST if they were £570 each like ours were.

They haven't got a stand capable of offering the view that the Upper West does, so no, they can't offer it at that price. Ours were £545 for renewals, with a decent view wherever you sit

I have seen where the cheaper seats are. However, the very point I was making was that it was better to be able to be able to afford to pay for a cheap seat of a relatively poor standard/view than not be able to afford to go to the game at all. Hence the example of The Ritz v Travel Lodge!!!
