You thought PSG were “dreadful” last night?Sutekh wrote: ↑08 Apr 2026 23:26 Another pathetic, spineless performance from the ‘pool. There’ll be more of the same next Tuesday after the opening 5 minutes of bluster ‘cos it’s at Anfield.
Mind you PSG are nowhere near the same as last season based on that dreadful showing either, still more than enough to overcome loSt’s tripe though.
Yes, compared to the way they ripped a much more effective Liverpool “a new one” last season I thought PSG were some way off what they were then. Says something for today’s “Liverpool” that PSG still should have won by 5 or 6 though.Royal Rother wrote: ↑09 Apr 2026 06:46You thought PSG were “dreadful” last night?Sutekh wrote: ↑08 Apr 2026 23:26 Another pathetic, spineless performance from the ‘pool. They missed some gilt-edged chances (ok, their finishing wasn’t great) and had 2 clear pens not given, so the scoreline could quite easily have been 6-0.
Not sure I've ever watched a team where to a man they looked so comfortable on the ball. Was like a computer game at times.Royal Rother wrote: ↑09 Apr 2026 09:31 Nah, not having "poor" either. Not clinical enough in front of goal is just about the only criticism that would be fair imo.
FWIW Carragher said PSG were "out of this world" last night and that the biggest compliment he could pay them was that it was like watching Pep's Barcelona.
And they no doubt will in the summer
Delicious, isn't it?Sutekh wrote: ↑16 May 2026 09:08And they no doubt will in the summer![]()
However, can’t help but think there’s something strange going on at the club.
First you institute a disastrous transfer window featuring such bright ideas as buying in two wing backs, when the club didn’t (and still doesn’t) use that system plus breaking the British transfer record for a permacrock probably made of balsa wood.
And then to finish it all off you persist with a manager who appears to have upset the players and is now on his way to succeed in turning the Liverpool fans against the club.
Can anyone make any sense out of any of it?
The strangest thing to me is how "off" the midfield players have been this season, apart from Sbozo and even he is having less impact than he did mid-season.Sutekh wrote: ↑16 May 2026 09:08And they no doubt will in the summer![]()

I genuinely thought you'd managed the head coach transition in a way that Utd had not been able to. Once you have a period of success and then a change, you start to think it's only a matter of time before the lovechild of Klopp and Ferguson walks through the door and rebuilds the death star.South Coast Royal wrote: ↑16 May 2026 12:12The strangest thing to me is how "off" the midfield players have been this season, apart from Sbozo and even he is having less impact than he did mid-season.Sutekh wrote: ↑16 May 2026 09:08And they no doubt will in the summer![]()

I gather that Macca has had personal issues but he and Ryan are just shadows of what they were last season along with Gapko who seems to have no idea about the offside rule.
Last night also showed that Alisson is so important to the side, not least because of the calm that he brings, and he has been injured far too much.
The impact of Jota's death had an effect for a while but not having a settled side and the injuries to Alisson, Ekitike, Bradley, Isak and the never injured Salah plus discovering that Frimpong is as weak a tackler as Jones has led to only finishing in the top 6 which have been the ambition for Man Utd last season and Spurs and Newcastle this season but Liverpool are expected to challenge for the title every year and not just scrape a top 6 place.
The owners have stuck with Slot but their loyalty may well be stretched unless , as Reading's fans feel with Richardson, he can change the style that he has (wrongly?) tried to implement this season.
It is right that Slot came in and didn't change much in that first season as there was not too much wrong.BRO_BOT wrote: ↑16 May 2026 14:26I genuinely thought you'd managed the head coach transition in a way that Utd had not been able to. I feel the same about Slot as you no doubt felt about the last couple of Utd managers i.e. you'd be delighted to see them stay at the club. I'm also guessing that as an LFC fan you are much more forgiving of Slot, much the same as I was with ETH, Amorin etc. You might be patient enough to see that they are trying to implement something, but maybe don't quite have the squad/whatevs for it. It's really difficult to assess. In the current climate, I fully expect the likes of Slot and Carrick gone by Xmas if they're not winning every game 5-nil, playing amazing football with a squad full of academy #lads from Toxteth/Gorton etc
