i'm assuming Spurs have named a 24 man squad with one tbc?Ferris wrote:Wolves leave Michael Kightly out of their squad.
Everton have only named only 21 players in their squad, with no Yobo.
Villa have named just 22 players in their squad.
Looks like he was supposed to join Fenerbahce on loan. Not sure if that's gone through yet.papereyes wrote:Isn't Yobo out on loan somewhere?
From what was just said on R5 teams are leaving squads with less than 25 as they can then add loan players to top them up to 25 at any point in the season.Ferris wrote:Wolves leave Michael Kightly out of their squad.

You missied the option of Join Cardiff.Ferris wrote:Wolves leave Michael Kightly out of their squad.

Luke Moore not in WBA squad.
For anyone that cares, the options for players not in the squad are:
Go on loan to a c'ship side
Go on loan to another prem side in 'special circumstances'
Play in Carling Cup and Europe
I thought there was a deadline on when the squad had to be submitted? Does that not mean they can change it around afterwards?soggy biscuit wrote:From what was just said on R5 teams are leaving squads with less than 25 as they can then add loan players to top them up to 25 at any point in the season.Ferris wrote:Wolves leave Michael Kightly out of their squad.

Loan season could be fun
And left out players like Albrightson and Clark that don't have to be registered because they're under 21? It would seem a sensible tactic to me.papereyes wrote:My hunch with Villa is that they have several players you'd expect to be in the squad lists who are automatically included on the grounds of age or eligibility - Agbonlahor for a start, but also those who were at an English club beforehand - so the ReoCokers and Sidwells.
I think this may also be the case for Everton.
Can Premier League teams register players outside the transfer window now? Is that what R5 are suggesting?soggy biscuit wrote:From what was just said on R5 teams are leaving squads with less than 25 as they can then add loan players to top them up to 25 at any point in the season.

Yeah, so if they were short of home-growns they could just chuck in one of their younger players to fulfil the quota.papereyes wrote:There may be a limit of 'at least' X homegrown players. I'm 99 % sure I read things along those lines.

Sky reporting that Prem clubs can only bring in loan players in exceptional circumstances - whatever they are. But yeah that's Sky so not necessarily true.soggy biscuit wrote:From what was just said on R5 teams are leaving squads with less than 25 as they can then add loan players to top them up to 25 at any point in the season.

Presumably that's like Fulop's move to City at the end of last seasonsheshnu wrote:Sky reporting that Prem clubs can only bring in loan players in exceptional circumstances - whatever they are.
