Premiership Star Blackmailed Over Orgy

The star, who is in his 20s and plays for a team in the league's top ten, romped with the girls and two male pals in a Las Vegas hotel.

The orgy was filmed on a BlackBerry and video from the smartphone is believed to be at the centre of an attempt to blackmail the star, who is an international player.

Compromising photos of the player - who enjoys a clean-cut image - are also thought to be part of the plot, which is being investigated by senior detectives.

He met the Swedish girls at a Las Vegas club during a holiday with two male pals.

One of the blondes was a 25-year-old waitress.

The group partied for several hours by downing vodka shots at the club - a well-known celebrity haunt in the gambling city.

They then went to the player's hotel room. He had sex with the waitress while her two friends romped with his pals.

Pictures taken of the orgy are understood to include the star wearing just a condom.

The Sun can reveal he has been emailed by a mystery man or woman who threatened to circulate the film and photos.

A source said last night: "We are trying to trace the person behind the email address, though he or she has tried to hide their identity.

"We're keeping an open mind on whether the person making the demands was one of the girls or a third party unconnected with what went on in the hotel."
