I think that's just the angle of the picture - the training dome in the background isn't part of this. It's basically just a fenced-off, landscaped, area.Royalshow wrote:It's a good idea yes, but as usual the execution is shocking. It Resembles a substation more than a place of reflection. Glad I wasn't the only one thinking thisRoyalshow wrote:It Resembles a substation more than a place of reflection.
That's not how I remember it. They had an area, larger than ours but nicely partitioned off, with plaques, I assume with the ashes underneath, and just plaques for remembrance. It was quite touching I thought.Sarah Star wrote:You are judging the garden by the fence around it.
Also, Leicester have what is basically, a bench of remembrance. We have a garden. It would be fine to have it open to view like Leicester's if the stadium wasn't surrounded by concrete and gravel parking areas. I'm not sure I'd want to sit in the garden quietly contemplating whilst looking out at a car park.
See now that's nice. That makes me want to visit it or pass by it and pay my respects, rather than look at ours thinking it's somewhere I can find a grundon and throw away my burger wrap.

That takes time - unless you can buy fencing with foilage already grown around it!Tails wrote:Would make all the difference if they had some form of foliage covering the wooden fencing.
It has also happened because one man has put hours and hours of work into making it happen and a very small number of people have made donations of money or plants. Judging by the look of it yesterday and given it is still new and the plants are not established, it could become a pleasant place to sit and the wooden fence means you can sit in peace without looking at the car parkIan Royal wrote:So you prefer a tarmaced road, iron railings and tree / bushy verge backdrop to an unmade road, wooden fence and the training dome backdrop.
Big woop of difference. The Leicester one only looks nicer because you can see the prettiness inside.
