Matchday parking w/best eastbound M4 access?

Right, heard from a local expat Royal to the core who'll be over for Blunts on Easter Monday

Anyway, RFI: needs to drop off a rental car @ Heathrow after full time and would like to know where best to park pre-match so to get back on the M4 Heathrow-bound ASAP and with minimal fuss, etc

Your suggestions please, with as much detail as required to get an old Elm Parker where he needs to be

I'd suggest the Foster Wheeler Park & Ride - shuttle bus back to the P&R, then it's turn right at the lights out of the P&R and that road goes straight up to the J11 roundabout where he takes the first exit onto the M4.

Would he need to get there well in advance of KO, or would the hunt for those spaces be expected to be more leisurely?

Anything about approximate fees, dur8ion of the shuttle ride etc would be useful as well

Oh, and I should "of" noted: he'll be driving to the game from the south, up the A33 --in case that makes anydamndifferenceatall

There's a link on official website about buses etc - that might help - I'm sure they'll mention the FW one.

I can't do as well as the O/S does - about halfway down the page where it says Foster Wheeler, Shinfield Park, 500 spaces

Not sure if you need to rush to get there as I don't use it myself, but I do reckon it's cheapest and easiest for someone on their own, and it is easiest to get onto the M4 if you don't know the area.

Not much to add to the above, other than when I used to drive, I'd use the F&W park and ride. Pretty easy and I used to get there quite late, say 1430 ish for a 1500 kick off.

I'd suggest the Holiday inn or HP (park and walk) rather than the park and ride.

Both are pretty easy to get back to the M4.

I'd recommend street parking on Northumberland Avenue tbh. Should be on the M$ 20-25 mins after the game.

I'd park on Hartland Rd as close to the Basingstoke road as you could. It's free and a gentle stoll down Acre Rd to the ground.

And it's then an absolute ballache on the Basingstoke Road up to the M4. Trust me, I walk past it every game.

Foster Wheeler P&R as already stated is by far the best way to go. £3.50 return for an adult. You can head up to the M4 the way Dirk says, although with the queues at J11 and the uber-short sequencing of the lights it is probably as quick to turn left out at the Foster Wheeler lights and follow the B3270 to the A329(M). 10 mins or so and he'll be on the M4.
