Worth noting that there have been announcements made about Birmingham New Street Station and the operation they will have in place at this time of year - due to the German Xmas market and the huge crowds of shoppers etc which gets rammed especially being the penultimate Sat before crimbo.

Apparently they're operating a single entry - single exit type system.......in other words, if you're booked on a 17.30 train and you get there at 17.25 you probably won't be able to just dash onto the platform through the concourse and onto the train.

Because we're not meating up Norrers, just planning the Banbury ticket split (£12.10 + £14) and congratulating the Brummies for sensible ticket pricing.

Annoyingly I can't make this (a game I could actually walk to).

'Greed re the entry-exit system, that's in place during rush hour and the feedback from those who use the trains to get in to work seems to be to allow extra time for your passage through New Street (which is currently a big building site, due to the station refurb), so make sure you factor that in when you're booking your trains home after the game.

Meeting a friend who's at Birmingham Uni for the game and a night out afterwards, really not bothered about this one, catching up and a night out are the best parts to look forward to this day!

Bordesley is v close (5 m walk), but only served by local trains.

New St and Snow Hill about equidistant, both prob 25 - 30 min walk, but you're more likely to get a bus at least most of the way from New St.

New Street gives you the most direct walking route, and the buses are round the back if you were looking to do it that way.

If you were planning on getting the Snow Hill train, you'd be better off getting off at Moor Street (the stop previous) and walking from there, as Moor Street is on the right side of the city centre.
