According to the BBC, Reading FC fans are among 10 Championship sides fans that are staging protests this weekend, along with many Premiership teams fans. First I've heard of it, anyone know any more?

Indeed.

For all who love £10s at Portsmouth and hate £37s or whatever it is at Ipswich come and give us a shout / join in. Plan * is to rendezvous near STAR Base at 2.15pm with the banner. On Saturday obviously.

Call me a cynic, but what good will it do?

It's not like we see empty stadiums in the prem is it? So whilst punters pays their money and turn up, the clubs will charge what they can for it. Relegation from the prem "usually" results in a price freeze at least or a drop (when the stadiums do become empty), so clubs do realize this, they're not the daft ones.

Similarly for the TV, if the TV companies can pull in the paying viewer to watch football, they'll spunk the money for the rights, hence the stupid amounts for the TV rights. We've only got ourselves to blame. Admittedly this is a global issue and not just England.

Not that I don't sympathize, I can't afford to travel to away matches as I used to (TBF that's not just the match price though, it's the whole cost, travel, food etc), so I simply don't do it any more.

And no, I don't subscribe to Sky or BT, I don't see the point in paying more money to watch games I have absolutely no interest in!

Ticket pricing will always be an emotive subject and any debate about whether fans are getting a good deal clearly has to take account of what fans are paying across the board rather than purely focusing on selected prices that they could be asked to pay in certain circumstances.

Believe the the view of the FL/FA was that away fans should NOT be charged more than home support for equivalent seating.

But then this also applies to ludicrous home prices that are out there.

Our prices seem fair, however if a protest will stop us ever getting to the same £95 a ticket it costs to watch West Ham I'd support a protest, not aimed at our club but in general.

I would rather pay current prices to watch us play championship football than ever pay £95 a ticket.
