Weren't Shamrock Rovers in a Europa League group with Spurs about 4 or 5 seasons ago?stealthpapes wrote:Dundalk's a bit of a story, right, as they're now guaranteed a group stage in something. When was the last time Ireland had a team at that stage?

BBC wrote:If you needed reminding, these are the pots for tonight's draw at 17:00 BST:
Pot 1: Real Madrid, Barcelona, Leicester City, Bayern Mnich, Juventus, Benfica, Paris St-Germain, CSKA Moscow
Pot 2: Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal, Manchester City, Sevilla, Porto, Napoli, Bayer Leverkusen
Pot 3: Basel, Tottenham, Dynamo Kiev, Lyon, PSV Eindhoven, Sporting Lisbon, Club Brugge, Monchengladbach
Pot 4: Celtic, Monaco, Besiktas, Legia Warsaw, Dinamo Zagreb, Ludogorets Razgrad, Kobenhavn, Rostov
Pot one are teams that won their domestic title. And the other pots are arranged by Uefa coefficient ranking.
No two clubs from the same country can be in the same group - and neither can clubs from Russia and Ukraine.
Basel have got a terrific record against English clubs recently so I wouldn't rule them out but on the whole, I agree.Sanguine wrote:Atletico, Lyon and Besiktas about as bad as it could get for Leicester.
In fact I'd say Lyon are the only real danger in the third and fourth pots - so only Spurs could get dragged into a 'group of death' with, say, Barcelona and Dortmund.

I bet they really fancied their chances when they saw the group they were in too.sputnik wrote:End of the road for SpuROFLs!
Agree with you on Liverpool and West Ham. Our pedigree in the CL is much, much better than those two.genome wrote:Seen a lot of Chelsea, Liverpool and West Ham fans giving them stick on Twitter. Bit rich
I said CL pedigree.genome wrote:Liverpool's european pedigree is also better, but to mock a team for exiting the Champions League early when you didn't even qualify is a bit belmontish
