Madejski stadium pitch size

There is a possibility that this happened some time ago(I could be losing my marbles!)- my seat in the lower west has always been level with the D. However today I realised I was a good 1metre nearer the half-way line.
Has the pitch been lengthened recently ? Has anyone else noticed ?

If the perimeter track has remained the same, then nothing much inside of it could have grown......I guess

Almost certainly not, there was never a spare metre of grass behind each goal.
More likely you're just sat in the wrong seat....

No, it's just as you grow up all those things that seemed so big and/or far away suddenly aren't any more.

Just thinking further about this, if the pitch has been lengthened the one constant would be that the halfway line has not moved ! You cannot suddenly be a metre nearer the middle, the middle stays where it is.

There is a CIRCLE in the centre, the only D is the penalty area one....

The halfway line forms a D either side in his defence. But yeah 'greed penalty area is the only one.

The half way line will move, if the pitch is extended at one end, though.

only if they wanted to keep them level with the halfway line, otherwise they don't have to.

Maybe it's to move the pitch further away from the away end and closer to the Eamon Dolan stand, It would make sense as in most grounds it's the away end who tend to throw coins/objects onto the pitch and invade the pitch so this makes it a bit harder to accomplish.

Alternatively, Sir John has had to give up his special seat to the new owners and has been left with one to the side, so he's got them to move the pitch across giving him his familiar view again.

I spent almost all the first half checking out line positions, comparing them to photos etc. Didn't catch any of the action, did I miss much ?
Anyway my conclusions are
1. The half way line is where it always was - in the middle
2. The goals seem to be where they always have been - nets stretched back to the bit where the grass meets the track.
Seems the pitch is the same lengthways as usual.

BUT I reckon it's been narrowed by a couple of feet . You can see what look like old corner flag holes marking a different touchline. No idea why a team with wingers and playing possession would narrow the pitch.

So what is the pitch size at the Madejski. Wembley is 115x75 yards I believe. They say Wembley is big but I don't think it is that much bigger than most league pitches. Just wondering how much of a factor that would be in team selection/tactics and how quickly players get knackered if they don't let the ball do the talking.
