Just seen that he's joined Norwich on season long loan - bit surprised by this. Not long ago he cost a lot of money for Blackburn and he seemed to be prolific - has it lost it a bit over the last few seasons or is it just that Wednesday did not suit him? Or was he over-rated?

He had six consecutive seasons with over 20 goals in all competitions. I don't think he was over-rated, just a striker of the classic type who needs a certain type of service, which he got at Huddersfield and Blackburn, and hasn't since.

Interestingly*, Rhodes was an Ipswich Town youth player, and their fans have taken the news of his signing for Norwich with all the grace you'd expect of modern-day football fans.

I know a Blackburn fan who told me that even when Rhodes was banging them in for them the fans were never 100% behind him. He was always considered by them to be someone who could get into the perfect position to finish off a move but was not a team player and was very lazy. They rated that other centre forward that was there at the same time much higher than Rhodes.

That other centre-forward was probably Josh King who is now thought to be worth around £20 million.
