At the start of the season I’d have said this was a real possibility. Rodri seems to be stepping up more than some, me included, expected.
Personally, I’d rate Rice higher than Rodri, but City may have a striker issue to solve, although that doesn’t seem to be affecting their results too much.

I'm not sure that Rice would command such a high fee as £100 million even if West Ham think he is worth that much.

Personally I rate Kalvin Phillips higher because of his more accurate passing (essential for a top grade midfielder) but again as the big bucks tend to get paid for strikers and creative midfielders/ goalscorers I can't see anybody (even big spending Man Utd) paying that much for Rice or Phillips even if that type of player is desperately needed by them.

Commanding centre-backs and keepers probably warrant higher fees than the more defensive-minded midfielders although the most expensive centre-back has turned out to be a bit of a dud.

The obvious £100 million that might still happen is Kane but I can't think of anybody else.

Not sure Salah would fetch £100m tbh. Hardly any clubs have that to spend, and Real Madrid have had their fingers burned badly with Hazard. Salah also turns 30 next summmer and after covid I think a sell on value becomes more important than ever
