Speculation - Fred Onyedinma

by morganb » 01 May 2026 21:23

Fred Onyedinma has turned down the offer of a new contract at Wycombe Wanderers and is likely to leave the club this summer.

That ol' Wycombe Wanderers/JJ connection?

Rotherham connection too! Can also play as a wing back

Personally hope it remains speculation.

Being talked up into rumour by the Chronicle

Oxford also interested apparently so if there is truth in it he’d be having to choose between renewing acquaintance with Matt Bloomfield on one side or Joe Jacobsen on the other.

Rather have Fred Flintstone :?

So he fits the criteria for most of our signings so I expect it is almost a done deal, i.e. past connections at 2 clubs and no transfer fee.
How is his injury record?

I get criticism of Leam/Couhig/JJ signing ol' boys but this to me seems like a genuinely solid signing.

How is his injury record?
Nov 2023 – Jan 2024: Suffered a significant hamstring injury during a warm-up for Rotherham United, causing him to miss over six weeks of action.
Sept 2021: Sustained ligament damage in a training ground collision with Luton Town, resulting in4-6 weeks out.
2022: Missed time with a serious hamstring issue and subsequent rehabilitation setbacks, which prevented him from playing in the play-offs.
Dec 2017: Suffered a torn groin while at Millwall.
Seems to have been alright for the past couple of years but I'm sure we can break him!

Bang average and won't improve the squad or first team. Would seem an utterly pointless signing, most likely idle speculation hopefully with no substance.
