Can anyone tell me how long it takes to walk to the stadium from Reading Station? Due to work commitments I may have to do that for a few games, leaving about 2.15pm.

From experience you'll just about make it to the gate but it'd be easier and quicker to jump on a madstad bus from the station...

I have walked from the stadium to the station, it took about 40 minutes, although i would suggest the bus from the station

takes about 40 mins. much easier to catch the bus though.

I tend to get a single on the bus there and walk back as it saves the queing, some money and gets me some excercise.

Just driven up to the stadium from town, and there are roadworks on Rose Kiln Lane until December. Are they going to re-route the stadium buses?

Heard a rumour that Reading Buses were going to strike on 19th Aug...apparently they feel that, with the likely increase in workload, they should be paid more.

One driver even commented "If we don't get an improved offer then we'll be going to work for Saff Landan or Midlands buses"

Northern sources have suggested that Manc buses may be putting in a counter bid for their services.

They have hundreds of parking things for bikes. The metal things in the ground that you lock your bike too.

15 minutes - about right. Really easy to cycle and better than waiting for 30 minutes ina queue for a bus.

they are by the rip off burger van in the car park across the road from the club shop

also its 40 mins walking at a good pace from the station. you need to get the bus around half one after that the traffic is a nightmare to the ground! best bet is take a bike be quicker and easier for you!

Well 12 and a half hours of walking in total. Think of the wear and tear on your trainers. And its guaranteed that at least half of that time it'll be raining. Wear and tear on raincoat?

2 miles to stadium from town, 2 miles back = 4 miles per game.

4 miles * 19 games = 76 miles

Not much wear and tear over this relatively shirt distance with a bike. Also wear a hat and a water proof maybe.

Nope. I've cycled for two years and can only recall it raining three times. And only one of those resulted in a drenching (Crewe).

Travelling by bus/car for short distances like 2.5 miles is ridiculous, yet modern society seems to think it perfectly acceptable.

Walk or cycle. It's the future.

Someone tell the bus drivers there won't be any extra traffic, the stadium was full last uyear, it will be full again this year - no more people.

When they are out of work after the new station opens they will have more time to relax.
