Was HP open? If HP was £7 then Holiday Inn for £10 is way too steep.

HP was open at £7. We used the speedway at £6. Always preferred the holiday inn as you get out a bit quicker, and I preferred drinking there than on the concourse.

The slightly lower cost of driving used to outweigh the fact that one of us couldnt drink

Now though, the increase in parking and petrol prices are making me think the bus is far more sensible...maybe thats what they want?

If you're sensible about it I wouldn't have a problem with drinking on the bus. You can get on a bus slightly inebriated (empahasis on slightly), and you can drink a can of coke on the bus, so why not a can of Carlsberg or some such beverage?

As for parking, public transport is the way forward. And you'd surely think the parking signs could at least be spelt right if they're charging £7 for the privelege of parking in their car park! "PARKING AVALIABLE"...how embarrassing!

Councils have been busy preventing parking on verges as well, Loads of timber bollards going into the verges in 3 Mile Cross last week.

And the good council wardens were out ticketing cxars near Hewlett Packard on the freeway part, is time they put double yellows in, as no one knows what a freeway ends sign looks like.

Yeah, but more expensive, plus then need to get the bus to the stadium from the station

Also parking elsewhere. This football club are taking the fans to the cleaners. The fans might put up with it because it's the big season next season, but the football club are in for an almighty shock if we go straight down. Look after the supporters and they'll look after you, try remembering that when you plan your next rip off!

Greenfields Road, opposite (and through an alley) the Basingstoke Road, looks onto the Holiday Inn, is perfect for parking and just a 15 minute walk to the ground, if you walk slow. The surrounding roads are also very quiet and trouble free.

That's because there is no such sign, there is however an 'End of Urban Clearway Sign' and if you don't know what it looks like you deserve to get a ticket.
