Just to say that Reading sports scientist John Goodman will be Tim's guest on Friday.

As an ex pro (striker with Watford and Wimbledon) and the man responsible for making the Royals purr like a Bentley engine he's sure to be a good listen.

You're a sports scientist. Does that mean you have an ology?

A word of advice.... if you ever find yourself in a squalid Chinese back street boozer and being challenged to either a game of Mahjong, or Chinese Chequers..... opt for the later.

I'd feel much safer, as remarkably, an anagram of your name is DO NO MAHJONG.

Also, stay away from the Russian girls in said Chinese back street boozer

When I think of Sports scientology I think of big Russian going though the paces in preparation for the epic bout with Rocky Balboa.

All the fancy equipment counted for nothing, the underdog won.

Do you work with the RFC academy players at all and do you use that experience to advise them about conduct away from football?

There was an excellent Radio Five Live feature on footballers' addictions which was reviewed by HobNob's Wax Jacket "essentially these guys have far too much free time, don't have the education to occupy effectively this free time, and the clubs do nothing/very little to help, so they fill it by whatever means possible and this isn't always good."

What do RFC do to avoid these problems?

Which player is the worst for sticking to diets and any special training?

Are the players generally receptive to new ideas however obscure they maybe and have you ever tried it on a bit by getting them to do something or wear something under the belief it will actually improve them as players or their recovery after games?

If you returned home to find a giraffe eating the contents of your back garden what would you do?

How much do you miss playing or is your current line of work the best thing ever as you can still get involved in the match routine but not have to worry too much about adhering strictly to diets and exercises?

How involved do you get with the buying of players? Do you run an assessment over them as part of their 'medical' or is there a 'grapevine' of sports scientists you can talk to to find out more about new players?

You appear to be in quite good shape, do you think this is a pre-requisite for a sports scientist or can you get away with carrying a few extra pounds? Not that I'm suggestign for a second that Niall Clark was anything more than his ideal weight *cough*

When your eldest daughter's face changed while you were making Roseanne how long did it take you to notice?

Do you really believe there is a fat American likely to become King of England if there is some sort of terrible accident while the royal family have their photo taken?
