New bus service from Winners, Wokkers, Brackers

Speaking of buses, It was good to see the 72A actually turn up with 72A on the front and not 72 as was the case last time, It got confusing as the 72 has 720 on the front which is what the 72A used to have as the older buses only have numbers.

Also, thumbs up to the driver for sounding the horn and then sending a runner into the Maidens Pub to call out the regulars who hadn't seen the bus arrive on time for a change. Plenty of undrunk pints left on the bar though.

Can you ask the landlord of the Rifle to phone the landlord of the Pheasant and tell him that the bus is on its way and therefore drinky up time?

This reason why Reading Buses put the fares up last year was because the fuel prices went up and now there charging the same from a suburb of Reading as to a shithole in a different county! Work that one out!

The answer will be that the cost of the run is very similar, possibly an hour extra for the driver, and a couple of gallons of diesel.

Reading Buses are a profit making company, same as Horseman, difference is that any profit goes to the Council. £250-000 last year I think I read somewhere.

The costings will have been worked out using full rates not as an additional income that can be sold cheap.

I'm worried about this too.... Also, how do I identify the bus (number?).
