Probably not enough, but it's definately a start. When Green park see the car park not getting trashed, they are likely to open up more spaces.

It's about time the club put pressue on Green Park to open up J11A so that we'll be able to get straight out onto the motorway and not have to bother fighting with the A33 traffic.

For a new Jct on the M4 then it has to make business sense and be worth the outlay. The benefit of which would be primarily for the business park and not just events at The Mad.

I'm sure this will come at some stage in the future but right now there's not enough demand for it with more than 1/2 of the office space still to let and even more buildings under construction & planned.....

where is J11A to be then?, the more junctions on a motorway the slower the traffic flow, as more will use it for local journeys.

I believe that the Pru wanted to buid a slip road off to Green park for eastbound traffic, but were turned down, RBC I believe!!

Unless it is solely used on matchdays as access to a sizeable car park for the football ground (not sure if that would work though).

The availability of more parking should be welcomed by all but the take up may be poor because most match regulars have already sorted their regular parking spot for the season and many car drivers don't have the mindset to plan car parking more than a few hours in advance.

Extra parking is most needed for new fans who massively underestimate how early they need to get to the Madejski and then find that there is nowhere to park. Unfortunately these fans will not be in the season ticket category.

Nevertheless extra parking is critical to the acceptance of the expansion plans.

Junction 11, the A33 and especially the roundabout and the stadium entry/exit roads are already at capacity, so trying to squeeze even more cars down them will only make things worse.

The only asnwer is more public transport, intelligently used and properly priced.

But everyone seems to expect to be able to drive to park close by the stadium, to be able to drive away down empty roads as soon as the match is over, and to moan and whine if they can't. It ain't gonna happen by just adding more parking!

Little wonder that people won't give up on cars when those responsible for running public transport stop providing it on Bank Holidays etc!

We supposedly have a Labour Govt at present but yet we do not have public transport, intelligently used and properly priced. Therefore the chances of ever seeing that happen are absolutely minimal.

If you live in Reading, have no form of disability, and feel the need to park that close to the ground take a good long look at yourself. I did, and boy I'm a handsome bastard!

There's an awful lot of supporters who don't live in Reading and quite a few, my family and I included, who 30+ miles away. So called public transport is not an option.

Even those who live near Reading probably have to resort to cars when the so called public transport doesn't run on occasions such as Bank Holidays (I haven't noticed a magnificent network of safe cycle paths in and around Reading!).
