Leaving Liverpool

Our greatest victory in terms of the level of team played and competition, we showed great heart, a really good level of support from the real Reading fans...but from about 15 minutes to go it started and by 5 minutes before the end, Liverpool fans had mostly gone, the South stand (Reading) was about 50% empty, the East had lost 30%, the North about the same and around me in the Upper West the drift had started. Why not, just for once, take a chance on the bus, the car park or whatever and stay to the f@cking end and cheer the team. Makes me so angry! This could be the moment that gets Reading away from the "little Reading" we are always called and makes up sit up. Hell, the Man Utd CEO texted me his thanks! Never leave early!!! Rant over....URZ!!!!

I had work at 8. Left 3 minutes into stoppage time. Was one of the first onto the buses back to the station. First time I have left early in 3 years.

I was disappointed - basic lack of respect for the team who had done so well.

i am oxf*rd annoyed at this as well. They walk down the stairs as slow as they bloody want, stop when there is something interesting happening, and block your view. Lots of people, including me, shouting at them to sit down etc

if your gona stay and watch, do it from your seat, not in front of me

I don't see what business it is of yours whether people left early or not. I don't normally, but yesterday I did. I had my reasons.

What sort of fans go to a game then leave early so they don't even know the result? What the hell do they do with the ten minutes they save?

They shuffle along getting in every fukcers way and when the team come to show their appreciation after a great result the place is half empty.

They should give their season tickets up to people who support the club properly.

probably had to rush home to watch X factor or Come Dancing

No, silly me.....of course.....they had no reason to stay and boo as the players left the field.

Probably the same "clueless fans" who had already texted in their comments to the local radio stations, calling for the heads of Marcus, Bryn and Nicky Shorey

I.m sure some could fall into that category, but not everyone. Remember this was not a normal kick off time and some people do have lives outside of Reading FC.

But if you go to the bother of turning up for the anti-sociable kick-off time.......then surely it makes sense to see out the conclusion of the actual game?

I left when the 4th officials board went up signalling 4 minutes of injury time. As I sit at the top of the East Stand that probably saved me about 15 minutes of time on getting out of the stadium and home. Yesterday those were valuable minutes.

I didn't want to leave early, I wanted to be there to applaud the team on beating one of the big 4, but unfortunately I couldn't. I am a season ticket holder so if I could have only attended for 45 minutes I would have done so.

you (of course) have your reasons

and you (of course) have the right to do as you choose.

I enjoy my seat in the N stand, but folk mincing around at the 85 minute stage of the game, sure as hell spoil my veiw and test my patience.

care to share? What was it exactly that leaving 5-10 minutes later would impinge on?

The point about yesterday though was how many left early. If we'd been 3-1 down I'd understand, but it was quite staggering how many empty seats there were at the end. I don't think even the West Ham match prompted such an exodus.
