Now, don't get me wrong, what's happened with Fat Frank's mum is very sad and all that but... surely it's going to get to the point soon where they might as well just design football shirts with arm bands already attached?

Agreed. Sad that it may be that his mother is dead, she wasn't a footballer, wasn't a coach and certainly wasn't employed by the football club.

I'm really up for showing respect and a moments thought for the loss or tragedy, e.g. 9/11, London bombings or a footballing great dieing. However, there is a point where it does become excessive. Was there a silence, or was it just arm bands? Did Frank play then?

I'm really up for showing respect and a moments thought for the loss or tragedy, e.g. 9/11, London bombings or a footballing great dieing. However, there is a point where it does become excessive. Was there a silence, or was it just arm bands? Did Frank play then?

Excessive to whom? Did anyone make you wear a black armband yesterday? No. The players were showing their respect for Frank and his loss, I am sure they wanted to, and that's that.

Agree again - I think it's a great sign of togetherness and empathy to have the team wearing black armbands. What I hated seeing was when they pulled out that bloody RIP t-shirt.

Agreed. I didn't notice that anyone was forced to observe a minute's silence. It's no different to these idiot players who want to wear a t-shirt under their tops with some message like "I love my new baby" or whatever some of them put on them. They chose, as a team, to wear black armbands to show respect for the death of a fellow team member's mother. Some people moan at the most slightest of things these days.

Incredibly, I don't have a problem with the blac arm band-wearing. It's important or people to show their respect and support of team-mates in their own way.

I just worry about the fact that you need to draw the line somewhere and that line seems to be moving more and more each year.

It's essentially no different to the "furore" over a memorial for Tyson in Woodley and people who obsessively leave flowers by the site of road crashes for years and years afterwards.

The minutes silence for when Ken Bigley died was the one that confused me most. At least Franks mum had some sort of connection to football.
